New Orleans Saints Ready To Shock and Awe
June 14, 2009
I am New Orleans born and bred, although I've spent a large part of my life outside the city as well. New Orleans will always be home, though.
I Inherited the Saints and wouldn't have it any other way. I know I say it every year, but this really is the year. I can't wait to see black and gold in the Superbowl and won't settle for anything less.
I am currently a soldier in the United States Army stationed in Iraq once again. I've been in for 10 years now and plan to finish my career in another 10. For those who have also served, my hat's off. For those who haven't, there are many ways to contribute, so never look down on yourself. Soldiers certainly don't, and we appreciate the support.
I am married to an amazing woman that makes me feel lucky every day I am with her. I have three children, two from my first marriage and one with this one. My family comes first in my life ahead of all else as it should be.
I'm a sports enthusiast. I play football, basketball, baseball, softball, rugby, soccer, volleyball etc. You name it, I either play it or am just looking for the opportunity to. Having said that, this has been a sad year for me in sports that has seen two amazing players leave my favorite teams: Deuce McAllister and Christiano Ronaldo.
At least in the case of Deuce, he has left the backfield in very capable hands, but Manch doesn't really have an answer for Ronaldo (He's just not someone that can be replaced.)
This is my first stab at writing. I've always liked writing and have attempted a few projects (novels, short stories, little things really), but I've never found something I really enjoyed like this. Perhaps I'll continue to pursue this. Gonna need something to do when I retire ;)
In any case, that's me.

Welcome to the Saints community.
I loved your latest article about the Saints and I recently wrote an article that was sort of on the same topic at http://bleacherreport.com/articles/201803-the-importance-of-sports-how-the-saints-helped-new-orleans-to-recover.
I host a Saints podcast at www.saintspodcast.webs.com along with another B/R Saints writer named Will Osgood.
If you have Skype, I would love to have you on.
The way I see it, the Saints need to win a Super Bowl in three years or less.
