Anthony's Bio

THE FUNNIEST SPORTS RELATED YOU TUBE VIDEO EVER!!!!!!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yiJwoNSLRwg&feature=player_embedded

Anthony Emerson: Born December 1st, 1994. Age 14. Location: Portland, Maine. In my profile pic, I'm the one in the bottom right corner in the red tie.

Ever heard of Ralph Waldo Emerson? Yeah, he's a distant relative of mine. And Henry Wadsworth Longfellow grew up in the same city as me. And Stephen King lives in Bangor, Maine. So I guess I sort of have writing connections. Not really, but still, there are some cool coincidences.

Graduated top of class in Riverton Elementary School (dubious honor, I know) in Portland, Maine.
Graduated in top 15 best students at Lincoln Middle School in Portland, Maine, where I got my first taste of "real" writing.

Currently in Deering High School (freshman) in Portland, Maine (GO RAMS!), where I currently write for the school nespaper, The Ramblings.

I'm a diehard Red Sox, Nationals, Bruins, Celtics, and Raiders fan. I know, you'd think Boston sports fan, but the Raiders and Nats are thrown in there cause I love an underdog. I also like to watch the Patriots, because of Tom Brady and Randy Moss. But I can't stand the Steelers, and Colts, because I hate teams that analysts constantly talk about on ESPN (except for the Patriots). You'd probably think that I'd be an LA Laker hater, but I actually like the Lakers more than most teams in the NBA. Teams I don't like are the New York Yankees, LA Angels, Tampa Bay Rays, Indianapolis Colts, Jacksonville Jaguars, Montreal Canadiens, Toronto Maple Leafs, Phoenix Coyotes, Golden State Warriors, Dallas Mavericks, and Memphis Grizzlies.

Anyway, I watch ever Red Sox game because I have an absolute need for sports information. I try to memorize every stat and read ever article. I try to do the same for the Celtics, Bruins, and Raiders.

I fell in love with sports during October of 2003 when I was eight-years-old. I tried to watch as much of game 7 of the 03 ALCS as possible. I woke up the next morning, ran into my father's room, and asked him what happened last night, and when he said that Aaron Boone had homered in the 12th, sending the hated Yankees to the World Series, I broke down and cried. During the 03-04 offseason, I read up on baseball as much as possible, and I think that it was destiny for me to fall in love with baseball right before the Sox reversed the curse in 2004.

I am currently set up to work on FanHuddle (link coming soon) on the Boston Bruins as a correspondent blogger.

  3. Eric Mangini has been an utter failure in Cleveland.. A big part of that has been trying to be like his former mentor, Bill Belicheck.. Heres a message to Eric: He Will Never Be On Belichick's Level. Appreciate any feedback you can give on this piece.

  6. Shit! Sorry :( Been absolutely swamped here, not that that's really an excuse.

If it's any consolation - you're def not the only one been suffering from my apparent inability to reply within a decent time period - but I still feel proper bad :( Will get to that asap...tonight, hopefully, but if not then definitely Saturday. :)

    (Please don't be mad...nothing personal, I swear!)

Re the Gordon Brown thing - don't know who said it. He was asked on some show - Mumsnet I think - what his favourite biscuit was, but he evaded 11 times, apparently unable to think of the "politically correct" answer. Took his office 24 hours to post a response/apology on twitter (he said chocolate), and by then there were a lot of blog posts/responses to it.

Only...the question was sorta changed to being, "what kind of biscuit would Gordon Brown BE?" The main answer was, of course, a "jammie dodger", but I thought that one was genius :P

And yeah, he's the guy who replaced ol' Tony (moron of the century - he's even worse than Gordon...) as PM. I genuinely think I will cry if Labour win the election again next year.
