Tinea's Bio
I'm a senior print and Web journalism major attending Austin Peay State University and have been studying and working in the journalism field since my days on my high school student newspaper staff.
I've served on the APSU student publications staff from 2006 until 2009, where I worked as a staff writer, sports copy editor, columnist and news editor. My works have also been published in the Red Mud Review and the Chattanooga Times-Free Press. I also do work as a blogger, graphic designer, Web designer and spend my spare time salsa dancing, weightlifting and, well...writing.
Though writing is my most cherished hobby, I am nowhere to be found without a red pin and a style guide. I consider editing to be my trade, but most of all, being able to help bring out the potential in other aspiring writers is the exciting part about the job. As human beings, we need honest and direct feedback; being the person to "tell it like it is" is my pleasure.

Former MLB player Eric Karros called my article into question on Colin Cowherd's ESPN Radio show yesterday.
He challenged me for a re-do: but here's my response.
I assure you, it's not just a ridiculous personal attack, but it shows that Karros was off-base with his statements.

Thanks for the awesome edit on my Truck Series Update. Also made my day that a editor realized, it's kind of newspaper format that I used and edited it that way. Really appreciate the job you did with it.
I have struggled with just taking some of the lengthier pieces in the Update to publish as separate articles but I'm also worried with just writing about the series that it gets reads and comments versus being not so lengthy without many reads or comments.
Since trucks is a third tier series, it doesn't get the exposure like either Cup or Nationwide.
While I have built up some loyal fans, it's hit or miss depending on what the article about regarding the series.
I have pulled one item out of the Update my Top Five Picks for the coming races, turned it into a separate article and like the results I'm getting from doing that.
I'll start posting you links to my articles for edits, any help would be appreciated.
Thanks Again,
Mike
