Thursday Moring Tight End In The Red Zone
07/15/2009
I was born in ano domini 1919, in Hell's Kitchen, New York City. To royal blood, of the highest esteem. My mother was a maid to the British Royal family, on their excursions to The Big Apple, and I am their seed.
After the gunning down of my pappy in '38, over a vig disupute with the Gambinos, we fled over the river to New Jersey, which I call my home. The vig was 2% pappy, not 1.5%. Why oh why.
My life has been full, and fruitful. I was road manager to Dean Martin for much of my prime, and spent wonderful times with Dean, Sammy and Frank. The stories I could tell you.
My interest in life now is sports, and the writing of sports. Taking in e-mails from all over the world, offeriing my insight to the goings on of pro football.
I count many players, coaches and owners as personal friends, and was quite a name in the Lounge Scene of '82. Great times.
I will be publishing letters received, and my insightful replies, for your education, excitement and entertainment.
Ciao

Lord Hughey:
Your life's bio is quite interesting and your comments are oftentimes biting if not sarcastic. Is it your way in treating your friends at B/R? Frankly, I could understand your disdain with the likes of Bob Arum and King. But fellow writers at B/R?
I shall be a liar if I will not accept that I do not like your commentaries. You appear to be a good judge of human character and events in the boxing world. But forgive me if I say that I do not share your enthusiasm with the idea that PBF shall tear MP apart.
The Philippines is a poor country. Not because the country is barren or its people are a bunch of ignorant bastards, but because the colonialist of the past raped our natural resources and made us the market of their capitalist economy, not to mention, of their sin products. They even thought us the art of politics and corruption!
You write with that certain air of superiority over your fellow B/R writers and humility appears not one of your virtues.
However, with all these things said and accounted for, our people could still learn a lot of things from you. But you must be a little patient with us coz our culture and our language differ from that of our American "masters".
Please be a little forgiving with us, especialy our English, because , this is only a second language and not our mother's tongue.
And kindly not make a laughing stock out of our countryman, MP, because for us, it is an equivalent to insulting our country when you insult his boxing stature.
Thank you very much and please forgive us if we are a little sensitive to your brand or style of writing.

"The fact that we've agreed to a 147-pound weight limit doesn't mean Pacquiao is going to weigh in at 147," Roach said. "He's more likely to be 141 or 143, which means he might weigh around 147 by the time he goes into the ring. Oscar will probably be around 157 the night of the fight, but the difference won't be that important. I don't want Manny to be the slugger anyway. We're going to win this fight with speed and motion."

You have a great sense of judgment about everything
I take your comments very very positively
I pondered with my thougts lately....
my writing skills...

I'm gonna write more and more of the things you
find bias (maybe cause you're a bias fan yourself)
for your enjoyment or annoyance.

After my ranking of offenses found great success, I am continuing the series, this time ranking the NFL's top receivers. Will the same men stay at the top of the list? Who will rise? Who will fall? Would love your feedback.

Indeed Lord Hughey, you nailed it with that comment regarding Nick's article. It's the most classic way to get alot of reads, and comments in a short time frame.
But as a Jersey guy, would you disagree with my assumption that Joe Namath is the most overrated QB of All-Time?
