In short, I am a displaced SEC Football fan living in the heart of Big Ten country in Chicago. Although I do not have an official team in the SEC, I love the rivalries, tradition and style of play in the SEC. Being a Chicago Bears fan, I love watching a good defensive battle. Not a Big 10 defensive battle, where the offenses are so horrible, they make the defenses look great, but 12-10 Alabama-UT shootout in 2009 (as well as a 6-3 barnburner in 2005). The rivalries are the icing onto of the cake; where beating a rival can make up for a lost season. I truly love the SEC and the most common question asked of me by my Big 10 and Norte Dame fan friends is "why are we watching Auburn-Georgia?"
In addition to devoting my Saturday's to somehow watch these games in a market no where close to the Southeast, I am a big NFL fan, mostly the Chicago Bears. The only team in the NFL who banks on Vanderbilt Commodores players to carry a team. As well as the Bears, I follow the Bulls, Cubs and Hawks (I don't understand hockey at all). I attended Marquette, so I am a Golden Eagles college basketball fan as well.
