To be fair Falcao is pretty quick. Di Maria, and the full backs are there too.

Rooney, who last night proved me that he's not lost it completely. Watch the highlights for England vs Switzerland, he was rapid. One Journalist was saying he was back to the 08' Rooney.

I think that's the best possible line up. What would you do?

    -

I think it's a 7/10 window. It's decent-good because we still haven't fixed our issues but instead we papered over the cracks with some stellar signings. Many would argue Falcao wasn't needed, I'm not one of them because RVP isn't fit 24/7, but still we could've kept Welbeck/Hernandez. Some even feel Ángel Di María wasn't needed, which I think is crazy but pundits seem to think so.

I don't think it was excellent at all because we still didn't get a proper box-box or a CB. Instead we got some luxury names.

Pretty much agree with everything you've said.

I'm happy DDG kept a clean sheet. It'll help his confidence, which must've been rock bottom after MK Dons. He made a good save as well, so happy for him.

Jones, probably had his worst game under LVG, but still looked solid.

Evans! What happened to him man?!

Blackett actually looked better than Jones for me.

With Herrera, Carrick and Blind available for QPR I think he'll play 4-3-3. No more Fletcher. Him and Anderson will be the back-ups I guess.

"Diamond surrounded by Manure" hahahahahahahaha :')

Same old crap from Young and Valencia. With Rafa and Shaw returning, we should be better from wide areas.

Really dissapointed with Mata, I hope his injury isn't serious.

Rooney was a joke vs Burnley. Absolute Joke. No wonder we're linked with Falcao..

RVP hopefully will be back soon, but he looks like he's lost it.

    De Gea

Rafael Jones Rojo Shaw

Blind Herrera Rooney

Di Maria-RVP-Mata/Januzaj

    That's my guess for QPR.

Sorry for the late reply. I've been extremely busy with work.

I'm hoping we can sell Cleverley+Hernandez soon. Powell on loan to Leicester would be nice too.

FALCAO?!?! wtf, can he play CB?

    Transfer deadline day is crazy.

Anyways, I won't be on B/R for a while, text me if you whatsapp:

Otherwise I'll reply in like a week, before QPR. Ahhhh can't believe it's going to be international football -_-

+ Hopefully Kagawa and some fringe players shine tonight vs MK Dons. Some players need competition.

It was so embarrassing to see Cattermole dominate our midfield! FFS.

Herrera returned to light training, so he's back soon thankfully. Not sure when Carrick is back?

Young conned us in pre-season. He did well and then now his place is secure he's hiding again. He did the same in January, remember his goal vs Cardiff? He scored and then afterwards hid again.

I agree but in a 4-3-3, Jones and Rojo is enough with Evans/Smalling/Blackett as back up. Also we haven't been linked with any CB's recently. Just Blind, De Jong and Vidal again!

Cleverley did the easy things well and didn't take any risks, it was one of his better matches. I'm probably being nice since he's an academy product but oh well.

100% agree about Fletcher, I love the guy, but it's destroying us now. Ben Pearson could do a better job!

But surely LVG won't drop RVP?!?!

I agree Mata needs to be closer to goal.

    I think it'll be:

    --------RVP-------
    Mata--------ADM
    -----Rooney------
    -Herrera--CDM-

Neither have I, never been on the touchline, it's weird because he was always there in the WC.
Mate, as long as we finish top 4, I don't care but there are no signs of improvement from last season. Jones is the only positive improvement...

    Lol sorry ignore that.

What a lethargic performance from united. Anyone who said we don't need Di Maria should watch this game again. We needed pace and direct play more than anything.

The only player that can be proud of wearing the united shirt was Jones. Outstanding defending from him. Without him we would've lost that game in my opinion.

I was so excited when Adnan and Welbeck came on. It was exactly what we needed and then LVG puts adnan in central midfield?!?!
I was hoping for 4-3-3. Adnan and Welbeck injected pace down the wings and rooney up front. But instead he plays adnan at CM. A player who has never played in CM in his entire life. Not even at u21 level. Fletcher was embarrassingly bad but I would've kept him on the pitch. Or at least move Wayne into CM.

Young was poor. His pre-season performance was a fluke. He was a liability at the back and when he was found in good spaces he still couldn't deliver the final ball. I hate it when he cuts back and does the floating ball into the box. 99% of the time the goal keeper catches it.
If he starts vs Burnley, I will flip!

Valencia wasn't the best but he at least got an assist and looked more solid at the back, compared to young. Valencia has one card up his sleeve and that is a low drilled cross and it worked fortunately. Young has nothing, honestly don't understand why he's on the pitch. Reece James and Tyler Blackett would be better options. Heck Wayne Rooney would be a better LWB than Ashley Young.
Valencia was also at fault for the goal but RVP was also to blame. AND HE DIVED AGAIN. FFS. Embarrassing the club.

Smalling looked scared off the ball at times but wasn't too bad. Yet another average performance by him. Blackett looked good, thinking back he can proud of his performance along with jones. Pretty solid.

Cleverley actually wasn't bad. Did the simple things well and kept things ticking. Grew as the game went on. Not bad.

    Fletcher. Sighhhh. Poor performance.

Rooney was poor today. Didn't look at threat at all. Poor touch and just looked sloppy. 300k a week!

RVP didn't look fit but some turns were brilliant. He needs to regain match fitness ASAP.

Mata had a good first half. Made things tick and his first goal was great. Excellent run and timing. 2nd half he went missing, yet again.

Welbeck looked decent when he came on but didn't have many chances. Januzaj actually looked OK in CM but it's a shame that he wasn't on the wing. A real shame. He could've been the difference maker.

Disappointed with LVG for not changing the shape and putting Januzaj in CM.

Very concerned for this season but hopefully Di Maria will inject that pace. Real box to box player, who will boost our attack a lot. "Mata/RVP's position looks in threat" - Gary Neville.

David Gill helped us out! He was part of the panel that made the decision about PSG haha. Well played Gill, well played.

Yep, VG is the man I'd trust to make the right calls. Realistically though, he'll either drop Mata or play all of them (including Mata/Rooney on the wing) only two realistic options in my eyes.

Khedira is a solid player, but is he that much better than De Jong? I'm not sure... De Jong is like a 7 in my books, and Khedria is an 8. Not worth the fuss, but we definitely need someone in central midfield. Someone with grit, and De Jong fits the bill.
Yeah, including Di Maria, we've spent 130M this summer. 167M in 2014 alone. Let's hope it gets near to 200M, because then we're legit title contenders, I wouldn't take 4th anymore.

    http://lineupbuilder.com/?sk=46ly8

That is as good as anyone else in the PL. Chelsea/City are great and all but that front line is just Wow.

Indoor is so fun! But the rules we play annoy me. In this country, they say you can bounce off walls, lol wtf kind of rule is that?!

I agree, let's just hope he prefers to play outside of England. Chelsea are good enough! Imagine him as Terry's replacement :O

Loaned out where though? PL or outside? I heard Spurs are really interested.

Wow that would be devasting but I don't think Di Maria is clinical enough to be a striker. He got like 4 goals last season right? 17 assists but 4 goals isn't enough to be a striker.

But at any point did you see Chelsea look like they were going to lose? Or drop points? I only saw the goals, so I'm asking you.
I just can't see Chelsea losing this season. I think they'll do the invincibles, they have the perfect squad.

    Yeah! C'mon United!!

Woooooooooooooo DI MARIA. Sooooo happy :D

Surely we will switch to a 4-3-3 now? LVG clearly said if he had a winger like Di Maria, he'd switch to a 4-3-3, so it's gotta be done now.

Question is who would you play on the right? Mata or Rooney? I just can't see either of them dropping.

Me too man. I have a feeling he's off to Munich though, it's the only plausible explanation. Otherwise we would've done a joint deal with Madrid for Angel and Sami. But instead it looks like Khedira is going elsewhere. I can't see him staying though, can you?

I swear Chambers was a CDM last season? Lol who knows. Looks a good player though, very confident and has all the attributes to play as CB.

Lol. Do you play football or just a fan of the sport?

Me neither man, it's strange to see them stunt Varane's growth like this. This is why it wouldn't shock me if someone like Chelsea capitalise and bid 40M on Varane and get him.

Your option 1 seems very logical. Di Maria on the right, Rooney/Mata on the left, and RVP up top. Rooney/Mata as the #10, and then Herrera and CDM at #6 and #8.

One problem is Rooney/Mata aren't wingers, one of them will be played out of position. Although Mata has worked well there, remember when Chelsea won the CL? Mata was LWM. So it's possible. Rooney at CAM would help the CDM and Herrera because Rooney is a good presser and scares opposition. He can't do that from the left wing.

Without Mata, is actually looks decent too. But Mata is my favourite so let's rule that one out :P

RVP needs to play, he's the only striker in our team who I feel can guarantee us a goal if fully fit. Not many players in the World can do that atm. Maybe 5. Suarez, Messi, Ronaldo, RVP and Aguero.

    So, option1 please!!!

"When Woody meant watch this space he meant the the growing hole where a midfield should be" hahahahaha. We shouldn't be laughing at this!

Interestingly Neville tweeted that Di Maria fits lVG's system perfectly, that almost guarantees a 4-3-3 to me.

Yeah, I can see us selling one for sure. Just hope it's not Danny. Hernandez in a 4-3-3 could work though... Let's keep both :P and loan out Wilson.

Let's just hope RVP is on it today! If not him, then Rooney/Mata really need to step up and deliver. Drop more points would really build a mountain for us to climb. Chelsea look unbeatable atm. City tomorrow could show why they're the team to beat again.
