  6. After one of the worst losses my own two eyes have seen, I decided to write this piece on loyalty to your team and dealing with the hardship of defeat.

  7. Honestly, with as bad as Penn State is, I don't disagree necessarily with that prediction. Other than the fact that Pryor isn't that good and PSU is led by a senior QB at home, OSU has all other advantages.

I just don't want you looking like I did last year writing my extremely homerish articles. They may not seem homerish to you but to others they will and you will get bashed.

I am very surprised at how Ohio State stayed in the game and almost won, but the fact is that a true freshman beat them at home. Ohio State looked good, but the defense choked in the end, and Pryor was mediocre at best, and Tressel (as Joe Pa was in the Rose Bowl and Tressel was last year) was outcoached by Pete Carroll, one of the greatest coaches of his time. Either way, its still a loss. Good luck to you man, and I will be at the game November 7th and hopefully you or any other Buckeye fan wont :)

  8. Dude I don't think you're a rookie, just a homer. I am a Penn State homer. My dog died that night of the 2006 game. I was upset because OSU was getting thrashed and I wanted them to win for the Big 10, and then when my dog died, I realized that no matter how big a blow a loss like that is, even if it had been PSU, its not as bad as it seems. There is always another chance, but you never get someone you lose back.

I respect your opinions and I am just stating mine. I am young as well. We are both going to be stubborn and I realize that. Just don't be like too cocky to say Ohio State is going to hop back up and thrash everyone because they may, but they may not. If they do and you say nothing people will be like "no one expected this wow" but if you say something about how great your team is and then they get thrashed or lose you get bashed big time.

It hurts a lot. I had so many people bash me because I was too cocky about PSU and the Big 10. It really hurts to be bashed.

Also, I am just trying to give you another point of view to look at, and some constructive criticism. When you are able to sit down and say, "We were outplayed, we were beat, it was a disgrace, we are not as good as I thought we were" people will gain a lot of respect for you.

  9. Hey man. You can ask anyone, last year I was exactly like you. Huge homer for my team. I still am. However, as you come to watch college football more, you'll realize that maybe your team isn't as unstoppable or as good as you think. As much as I love Penn State, this year I have learned to look at is as objectively as I can without being overly harsh. You'll get to that point after a season or two, don't worry. Just for now, remember, don't overhype your team or you will be bashed when they lose. Trust me when I say this...last year against Iowa and USC, I took some heavy bashing afterwards.

  10. Jakob:

Your boys came in pumped up and played hard. Very respectable effort. Tough loss at home. Here's my examination and analysis. I hope you don't mind, but I had you in mind for part of it. I truly do hope that you and the Buckeyes have a succesfull rest of the season. All the best,

    T8
