What Happened to the Promise and Anticipation of Arizona State Football in '09?
11/24/2009
I am a fourth year student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication as a Broadcast Journalism major. I have been involved in sports for my entire life.
As a child, listening and learning from my father, and then playing as soon as I could walk and run - Little League, AYSO, and Club Soccer throughout California. As I grew, I added football and basketball to the mix, until entering high school where I dedicated all my efforts and focused on football.
I was an undersized blocking and goal line tight end who also doubled as a defensive linemen and linebacker, standing at a meager 6'2', 231 pounds - a throwback to the old days of football. My dad would have been proud to see that.
Since then, I have spent a lot of time around college football. As a member of the equipment staff at two PAC-TEN schools, I have had the privilege of working very closely with some amazing players as well as being on the sidelines to witness some amazing games.
I hope my writing inspires others to voice their opinions and discuss sports related issues. I may not always be "write", however I will always voice my opinion, tell a good story, and hopefully bring you back to comment on and check out more of my work!
Arizona State's 2009 season started with intense anticipation and reserved promise, promise of future achievements and success...
Dont hold your breath thinking that Ryan Bass is going to be a member of the ASU football team in the future. Bass had a "falling...
Any last gasp hopes of reaching a postseason bowl game were lost at the Rose Bowl Saturday Night. Arizona State's loss to the UCLA Bruins also ensured the Sun Devils of their first back to back losing seasons since 1946-47...
What's up Kristian, just wanted to get your feedback on my list of top ASU defenders. Let me know if I missed someone. Here's the link.

Hey Kristian,
Good series and like the facts you present. I like "Sully"'s potential and he probably will end up the starter, but I'm just not convinced he gives them the best chance to win. In addition, I don't know if the offensive line has progressed to the point that they can give him adequate time to throw. They have a ton of talent at receiver, but getting them the ball will be the challenge. If they used a qb like Szakacsy in the spread and let him throw on the run where he thrives. I'm not sold on Sullivan because it seemed like whenever he comes in, he fumbles a snap and does not run the offense well enough for a qb in his 4th year. I hope I'm wrong and I'm just going on what I've seen in game situations, but it remains to be seen.
Keep it up...
