Sabres '09 Offseason Moves

Trade:
Tallinder and/or Lyman
Hecht
Pominville - If the price is right, I'm ok with this. However, he may not have scored a lot of goals but his point total was 2nd on the team with 66. How come we're ok with Connolly have tons of assists but not goals but not Pommer? Assists means, he helps to score goals, remember?

Release:
MacArthur - Not waiting any longer
Moore - With limited cap space not worth the chance ona possible one-hit wonder
Spacek - Love to keep him but will probably be too expensive
Numminen - It's been fun...well, not for two years now but that first year was!
Afinogenov - Time to let the turnover machine go

Resign:
Kaleta 800,000 - How can we not resign him?!
Peters 500,000 - Everyone needs a fighter
Stafford 2-2.5 mil - One more year to prove himself, then he's trade bait
Sekera 2-2.5 mil - An affordable defensemen, which is all the Sabres require
Ellis (2-way) 475,000 - Look back, when he started playing on a regular bases, he showed everybody up with his intensity and grit. Our boys have realized how difficult pro hockey is to play when you dont have Briere and Drury saving your butts night in and night out! Time to grow up Sabres!

Possible Aquisitions:
I like Lauri Korpikoski from the Rangers, James Wisniewski from the Ducks and Nathan Oystrick from Atlanta. Korpikoski is young but showed some nice skills when I’ve matched him. Wisniewski was awesome in the playoffs and should be relatively inexpensive. Oystrick showed some nice speed and puck handling skills the times I’ve seen him. Once again should be inexpensive. Clutterbuck would be a pipedream but I’d love to see him in blue and gold.
