Trevor has yet to fill out a bio.
He wasn't in my top 5 centers at that time (when you look at the stats, Al was out-performing him). Keeping Marc out of the top 5 was highly questionable, but I couldn't leave off Jefferson, the 2nd leading scoring center in the league at the time.
I voted for Marc to make 3rd Team All-NBA for that article.
I was trying to have a respectful back-and-forth.
Thanks for giving me even more motivation to be an accomplished sports writer.
You make great points, Trevor. Great points.
But to say Gasol is clearly the better offensive player is a sweeping generalization & a disservice to Jefferson. Jefferson has a sweet, sweet post game and a jumper to back it up.
There's no shame in losing out to Jefferson for the moment. Marc is also probably one of the top 30 players in the NBA. Top 10% is not too shabby. I included him in my top-5's a couple times earlier this season.
As a side note, try to refrain from stuff like "maybe you should turn on a grizz game sometime and actually appreciate..." I watched the Grizz every time they've been on NBATV, TNT, ESPN and online. And I do appreciate them, I think they're pound-for-pound the toughest team in the NBA.
Saying stuff like that sounds condescending, especially when you aren't there to see how much research and film work goes into the articles we write.
Got my head examined today like you said I should. Doc said I have "Grizzlyhateritis," which often leads to snubbing Marc Gasol from top-five center rankings.
Truth be told, I like Marc a lot, and it pained me to leave him out. But give me your argument against Al Jefferson.
