Hopefully I wont' always be known as the "LeBron James tape guy" so here's a little background information about myself.
I graduated from Syracuse University with a degree in broadcast journalism in May 2009.
At Syracuse I worked as a manager on the men's basketball team for a few years, which was a great experience, but I realized it'd be tough to crack into the sportscasting industry by rebounding and refilling water so I concentrated on working in the media senior year.
Last summer, I interned with NBA Entertainment and WNBC Sports in New York City. When you can't afford a place to live in the expensive tri-state area, sometimes you have to live with your college roommate's grandma in New Jersey (I'm sure it happens all the time).
I was able to get a gig blogging/reporting for Syracuse.com, the website of The Syracuse Post-Standard (The Orange Segment with Ryan Miller, blog.syracuse.com/orange-segment), where I had the opportunity to cover the Orange through the 2009 Big East Tournament and NCAA Tournament (I don't recommend driving from Syracuse to Miami, though).
I was fortunate enough to break a few Syracuse football and basketball stories (Mike Williams' return to the team, Jonny Flynn and Eric Devendorf signing agents and declaring for the NBA Draft). Here are a few samples of my work:
