Preston has yet to fill out a bio.
@Preston: Grilli hits the DL and Melancon is 6/7 in save opportunities. Justin Wilson, Tony Watson and Mark Melancon have a combined 50 holds, as a team they have converted 82% of their save opportunities and have stifled opposing batters all year (.228/.304/.339). Atlanta has converted 78% of their S.O. Opposing hitters are batting (.244/.303/.374) against the Braves staff. The Bravos have given up 76 more hits, 20 more runs, 23 more earned runs, 13 fewer strikeouts, .244 BAA and the same WHIP as Pittsburgh and an OPS that is 30 points higher than Pittsburgh pitching staff. The Buccos pitching staff as a whole has an ERA just over 3 (3.07) and the Braves are #2 with 3.27. Atlanta has given up 7 more home runs than Pittsburgh. Not sure where you got your stats from Preston, but I'm running out of major categories to discuss.
Earned Runs- PIT
Maybe you're right... perhaps Atlanta's staff is better than Pittsburgh's.
