There's something amazing about sports in Colorado. The only major city in an entire time zone that boasts teams in all four major sports, growing up here creates the type of zeal for athletics that one normally associates with Southern college football fans or Philadelphians. But it's Denver that consistently sells out our arenas, that scrutinizes the happenings of every team, from the Broncos to the MLL's Outlaws (lacrosse). Contrast this with my current environment, Atlanta, a place that would easily rate as one of the most apathetic sports city in America, shocking considering that it's a city located in the middle of SEC country. I reflect on this fact when I sit alone watching Denver games and wishing I was in the thin air, hearing rumbles of jubilation crowd up against the side of the mountains.
