My name is Derek, and I'm a freelance sportswriter who covers MMA, mostly for web sites and magazines, I am also a die hard N.Y. sports fan and a graduate of SUNY Plattsburgh.

In the fall, you can find me most Sunday's in Section 108 at Giants Stadium, but most weekends I'm in Massachusetts or Connecticut somewhere watching a cage fight and grabbing interviews with the next generation of UFC title contenders.

I love playing basketball, watching football and going to fights in casinos or cities where I've never been.
