About

I'm a fan of many sports, but baseball is far and away my favorite. I also enjoy basketball, sumo, cricket, and many others.

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

Tony Gwynn, Dizzy Dean, Ichiro Suzuki, Ken Griffey Jr., Takamisakari

  • Favorite Sports Teams

St. Louis Cardinals, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Hanshin Tigers, University of Kentucky Wildcats

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Any one of the many Cincinnati Reds games I saw with my dad back in the day

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Cy Young's 511 wins... Baseball has changed a lot since then and pitchers don't get nearly as many chances at that kind of a number.

  • Ruth or Mays?

Babe Ruth. How many other players have led the league at least once in batting average, RBI, runs, home runs, ERA, and shutouts?

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger

  • ACC, Big 12, Big East, Big Ten, Pac-12 or SEC?

    SEC

Brad Lidge, Brian Fuentes, Jonathan Broxton, and Mariano Rivera got it done.

Huston Street, Jonathan Papelbon, Ryan Franklin, and Joe Nathan did not.

The first four will be playing in the next round. The last four will not.

I think that's proof just how important closers are to their respective teams in the playoffs...

    Michael here.

Hey, I commented back on that Smoky Joe/Walter Johnson dual. Left a Quote about that famous day from Smoky Joe and also one from HOFer Harry Hooper about that day.

It's a 2 or 3 down from your original comment. I had a great time digging it up, it's one of the most famous non World Series games in history. Had a great time. Good hearing from you again, too. Let me know what you think after you read it. Talk to you later.
