I'm sure you’ve heard it before:"I love sports, I'm getting a college degree, I love sports, I don't want to do anything else, and I love sports. Hmmmm, I dropped out of baseball at 13 because I can't hit a curveball, I can't play football because I'm 5-11 205lbs and run a 5.8 40yd dash, and I can't play basketball (see: football). What am I going to do with my life?"
I'm not a half-bad writer, so I've pegged my dreams on becoming a sports journalist. And not just any sportswriter; a young, rich, incredibly talented one with dashing good looks. (I know, dream big.) So far I've published award-winning articles and written a bi-weekly sports column that at least two people routinely read for my college newspaper, and I've been a stringer in the sports section of a regional newspaper. I've worked for the Portland Pirates, the AHL affiliate of the Buffalo Sabres, and I've spent more hours watching the Sox, Celts, B's and Pats than I care for my mom to remember.
I graduated from Bowdoin College in Maine, and I'm looking forward to employing myself as an unemployed college student (with dashing good looks) for the foreseeable future.
