I am a sportswriter in Tampa, Fla., who has covered the NFL for most of the past 15 years, usually for the Jacksonville Jaguars, but for the past six years, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. I have also covered the Tampa Bay Llghtning and Atlanta Thrashers for the NHL, the Orlando Magic of the NBA and the Tampa Bay Rays in the MLB. All of those were beat writing positions, but I have broken into my own as a freelancer for the past five years and enjoy it a lot more. Working the desk gets old fast. I now cover the MLB, NFL, NBA and NHL along with the PGA Tour for several publications and cover the Florida Gators for a national publication (I am NOT a Gators fan). When I am not covering sports I am writing a book about the beginnings of Walt DIsney World and am also usually typing something till about 3 a.m. listening to Bruce Springsteen. I am married with two kittens and a puppy, play golf three times a week and that's about it.
Jeff - RE: Chickillo Article on TBO.COM and Tampa Tribune
Thank You for the written Response to article. Your unbiased response to greatly appreciated ! .
I was there, if you were not and would like to discuss further, let me know. I am a parent oa Gaither Player, but that really didn't matter. It goes without saying Chickillo is a very talented player, but his behaviour on Friday Night was beyond bazaar, I think he really lost his bearings. How else would you explain this actions ? After the 2 15 yard penalties he was 'celebrating in the middle' of the Alonzo Cheerleaders ? What does that say about his team and teammates ? Family and coaches ? I thought it was a bad movie ..
