I am a New Yorker at heart, growing up in Washingtonville and currently residing in Manhattan. I have followed the Jets, Mets, and Islanders ever since I can remember. However, my knowledge and interest is not solely limited to those teams. I have a general love of all sports and admire great athletes, coaches, and moments. I'm particularly fond of "underdog" stories and players or teams rising to the occasion after they have been counted out.
I grew up playing baseball and stuck with it up through high school. It will always be my first love and I genuinely appreciate the physical and mental aspects of it. Now in my early 30s, I'm basically your typical weekend warrior, playing flag football, baseball, and ice hockey. It keeps my competitive juices flowing and continues to challenge me to be the best.
I have an English degree and my writing style is somewhat straightforward, with hints of tongue-in-cheek humor. I like to try to relate what I'm writing about to past experiences or pop culture. I think so many writers and bloggers try to act as reporters when they're not, they're simply outsiders relaying their observations.
Don't get me wrong, I would love to have a firsthand view of the teams and players I'm writing about, but this is the next best thing. I often dream about what it would be like to have that glossy media credential card hanging from my neck as I watch my favorite team play from field level.
Until then, I'll continue to do what I love—follow my favorite teams and provide thoughts and analysis in an informative and entertaining way. Hope you enjoy!

Yeah I just bought my first home here in Wurtsboro, near Yankee lake, just a couple years back now. Love it here. I lived in St. Augustine/Jacksonville for a couple of years back in the early 90's like around 91/92. I really miss it there. Nothing like the sights on the St. Augustine beaches...if you know what I mean! ;)
As the Mets are done, the season is still fun
