and shows your logic..a team cannot defend 287 against bangladesh and a batsman is blamed.and that draw against England was as good as a loss..as per the west indies management..i want to ask what is performance of lara in India?

Seems you have began watching test cricket from 2002 onwards..i guess you have forgotton the fact that sachin has been the lone fighter in 90's when dravid n company were rookies and were failing utterly in australia and south africa and against pakistan who had the best bowling attacks..your argument doesnt hold true..remember 1999 series in australia..when mcgrath use to joke that dravid and ganguly were his bunnies and literally he used to take their wickets in 4 balls outside the off stump..india began no 1 in 2009/2010/2011 in test..it was directly proportional to sachin's form .he was cricketer of the year in 2010 and leading runs scorer..so by your argument dravid's contribution must have been more than srt..but facts dont lie..dravid had his worst 3 years prior to west indies series 2011..he didnt took off shine off on bouncy and swininging south african tracks against steyn and company (srt the sole hero in that series with 2 100's and others failed and were exposed..dravid not even a 50..so srt dint shine of the new ball) and yes india first time drew the series in africa..
talking of england, well dravid is always great in english conditions..no arguments on that..but srt dint have that bad series there..he was always getting starts and got a 90 odd and 50 odd..but not upto the mark ..but had ok series..overseas record means record of a player in all overseas.. i.e. south africa, australia and england..and not just england..so dravid was not even able to take shine off the new ball in south africa in 4 series and in Australia apart from 2003-04 series, his record was not upto the mark
talking of being at no 4..well its historically proven that the best batsman bats at 4 in test..and look at sachins record in england..he played the best in 2007 and india won the series..( no 100s but 2 90's)...and i wonder if you know that there was no dravid before 1996 and sachin was at top of the mark then and didnt need anyone to take the shine of the ball

sachin has come most of the time in his career at 20/2 or 8/2 and he and dravid together taken india out of trouble..remember 169 in cape town? when dravid n others failed utterly in hostile bowling conditions against donald and company ( that is what is called toughest conditions to bat on..bouncy, swinging..in england its just swings..)

Well , You don't seem to be a dravid fan, bcoz a Dravid fan never compares himself to Sachin . He was the one who took off the shine from each new ball in every Ind inngs and who allowed Sachin to shine with the used ones. Without Dravid, sachin wouldn't have surpassed even Gavaskar's tally of runs. I think u forgot the latest 3 centuries that Dravid scored in ENG(Toughest conditions for batting ever) where sachin couldn't even get one. Dravid opted to bat in the No.3 position which is the anchor role in test cricket . He always liked pressure situations and let his bat do the talk... Still if u think Sachin is better then Why does he bat down the order at No.4 , he can open the innings inplace of the struggling Sehwag right? If he can open the innings in ODIs then y can't he do it in tests? The reason is that the guy struggles with swing and will have his off stumps rearranged... More over the loss to a rookie team BAN and the loss of THE ASIA CUP is no where nearer to Lara's one Bcoz he drew the test in a flat wicket whereas Sachin blew it up in a flat wicket...
