About Emile »

I am a sports journalist living in Chicago, a short walk away from Wrigley Field. I graduated from Miami University of Ohio, where I majored in journalism and had the pleasure of serving Ben Roethlisberger stir fry at the dining hall once.

I have worked at sports desks from Cincinnati, OH to Aurora, IL and have covered just about every sport.

I love talking Bears, Orioles, Reds and Terps basketball and football. And yes, I acknowledge I'm all over the map with my sports allegiances. But I've lived in D.C., Cincinnati and now Chicago, so don't say the words, "fairweather" or "bandwagon". Besides, who is a bandwagon Orioles fan anyway?

Feel free to check out my resume and some clips at www.emiledawisha.com.

Jordan. Russell wasn't even the best player of his time (Chamberlain).

    Gretzky. A 215-point season...enough said.

Pele. He scored two goals in the '58 finals..when he was 17! He is the only player ever to be part of three World Cup winning teams.

    Federer. He's a better all-round player.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger will be considered the greatest golfer ever once his career is over.

making 500 left turns is not my idea of a sport.

Formula-1 is a little more interesting, but still not my cup of tea.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

ACC basketball: best fans, best rivalries, and most exciting style of play. ACC football: Well that's another story.

I remember being at Camden Yards when Eddie Murray was trying to hit his 500th dinger. 60,000 orange signs that all said "Eddie" on them. He struck out 3 times. Ha. Its nice to know that there are no band wagon Orioles fans. At least its easy to get tickets.
