Hi everyone, thanks for checking out my profile. I'm pretty new to Bleacher Report and web writing in general, but I'm hoping to get more involved and I'm excited to be a contributor to Bleacher Report.
I've worked as a sports writer for more than five years. I've written for several publications and covered everything from 9-man prep football in South Dakota to the Green Bay Packers. Last summer, I had the chance to cover the Milwaukee Brewers. I only covered like six games, but it was a great experience. Since then, I've moved on to another newspaper (for reasons beyond my control), but I would love to work some Brewers games again! Hopefully, I'll get that chance.
Currently, I work for the Daily News in Rhinelander, Wisconsin. Check out our Web site at I know, cheap plug, but I had to get that in, ha! You really have to do everything at a small daily: writing, reporting, copy editing, paginating, taking photos, posting to the web ...Since I've been at the Daily News, my biggest highlight so far was covering the Packers season finale against the Lions last December.
I used to work for one of their competing papers as the lead sports writer, but they laid me off last summer. I'm sure I don't have to tell anyone that it's been a difficult time for newspapers. However, I love being a sports writer and I'm hoping to stick with it in some capacity as the industry changes.
Being from Wisconsin, I love the Packers, Brewers, Badgers and even follow the Bucks on occasion. I also used to be a huge pro wrestling fan, but I haven't really followed it regularly in some time. Man, I still miss the Attitude Era! I was a rabid Stone Cold fan.
I love the Pack, but I'm probably not the biggest Packers fan in my household. My girlfriend Erin is infatuated with them! I'm so lucky to have found a wonderful girl who's really into sports! She's an awesome sports photographer, too. In fact, some of the photos you'll see attached to my Packers articles are ones she took. She's been credentialed for the Packers, Brewers and Bucks. Hopefully, we can find a profitable way to pool our talents and take over the sports journalism world, ha ha!
Anyway, I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy bringing it to you. I'm looking forward to posting additional columns and articles on here soon. Take care.
