Joel's Bio

Hey everyone, my name is Joel. I'm a 20 year old college student from Illinois. I'm majoring in History. Don't let that fool you because I'm a big time sports fan. I bleed red, blue and orange. You will see some bias in my articles because bias based opinions make reading articles more fun. It adds color :-)

Anyway, I'm a big time St. Louis Cardinals fan. I have been since I was five years old. I still remember the days when Ray Lankford was the most feared hitter on the team. My ultimate favorite day was July 31, 1997 when my favorite player of all time (Mark McGwire) was added via trade to the Cardinals. That was a great day. I also said I bleed blue and orange for the Univeristy of Illinois Fighting Illini. Great school and a great sports program.

I don't watch the NBA or NASCAR. I rarely watch the NFL. Sorry, these sports just aren't exciting to me. The NBA is full of wimps who can't play more than two games in succession and NASCAR isn't a sport. You drive a car in circles for three hours.

I hope you all enjoy my articles as I will enjoy giving them to you. As for you Cardinals fans, I'm proud to be a top writer for our great team and I hope to hear from all of you!

I guess my writing attracts people from outside of Bleacher Report, as many people have joined B/R just to comment on my articles. Kind of annoying, but yet, somewhat satisfying.

  3. I definitely have to agree. I keep clinging to hope that the Cardinals will pull through this year but I am not so sure anymore.

  4. Sorry to hear there is such hate, Joel! It was amazing tonight!

    Ben

  5. I know you're not into college football, but I think you'd still like this piece.

I've been working on this article for weeks! I really hope you enjoy it!

  6. Honestly, I didn't either until I looked it up. For some reason, "dingy" didn't look right to me.

    Keep up the great work!

  7. I was actually asked by Aron Glatzer to write the article specially for CBS. B/R just signed a contract with CBS, so he figured I could write something to debut there.

  8. Thanks for the POTD for the Free Agents piece! Keep your eyes out for it on CBSSports.com this week!

  9. All that talk about Mizzou being overrated, and now look where it got you! All jokes aside, Missouri played pretty terribly and still won convincingly. Illinois is good, but my Tigers are better. Maybe next year buddy.

  10. Congrats on joining the top writers of the St. Louis Cardinals community and the MLB rankings! I loved your last article. Keep it up!

  11. So you mean after you've finished editing, and you click "Save" you get an error message?

  12. Joel—is this when you try to write articles, try to edit them, or both?

Also: what browser are you using (Firefox, Internet Explorer 6.0, Internet Explorer 7.0, Safari, etc.) Mac or PC?

Sorry my man...shoot me over some more details and we'll try to figure out what's going on.

  13. Joel,

Being one of the top writers in the St. Louis Cardinals' community, we are relying on you to turn in some awesome stuff for us!

I just want to remind you to keep coming with solid stories. We have all been slacking as of late with school starting back up for many, but we need to keep the STL community one of the strongest in the MLB section. We have started off really well, so let's keep it going!

    Ben

  14. Thanks Joel for editing my piece on the Diamondbacks. I really like what you did to it. Your title, "Snakes Poised to Strike" (Later edited to "Arizona Diamondbacks Poised to Strike") is way better than the title I came up with (I can't even remember the title at this point). The first time someone edited my article I didn't like it. It felt like an invasion of my personal space. I am, however, very comfortable with your edits. My article reads so much better with the tweaks you applied. Once again, thanks.

  15. Thank you, Joel! Check out the website to comment on articles, please!
