Cleveland's New Act: Manny Acta Was the Best Choice For the Tribe
10/27/2009
Hey everyone, I'm Nino, a MLB Community Leader here at B/R. If you ever have any questions leave me a note on my board. I try to read as many articles on the MLB section as I can but obviously I can't get to all of them and I apologize in advance if I can't leave a comment. Just know I do my best to read it if you take the time to write it, but between school or my job and all the other things I've committed to, time or my energy tend to get low.
My favorite sports are football and baseball. But I'm a baseball nut and I'm a die hard Indians fan, and as you can tell that's pretty much the only Ohio team I like, that doesn't really make me popular around my area. Not that I had a shot at that to begin with.
I run a complete blog that covers everything Cleveland Indians. Check out the my website link on the side if you hate me or like the Indians. I waste a lot of time updating useful roster pages and photoshoping Indians players onto heads of Super Mario characters.
I'm a proud Zip as I'm currently double majoring in Mass Media News Communication and Interpersonal and Public Communication at the University of Akron.
Other Things you should know about me: If I'm in in the car alone listening to the Indians, I will scream at the radio, it gets violent. I watch way too much television as well and have too many favorite TV shows. Back to baseball for a second. I have a passion for the game and enjoy watching it day in and day out even if my team is nauseating. I believe that is part of the beauty of the sport that makes it what it is. I've never played the game but appreciate it so much by just watching some of the players in this day and age give it their all.
Anyway, back to stuff that is less-serious. I still love the e-trade baby commercial and have a new found hatred for this AM PM commercial that is running constantly, now that the Cuba Gooding Jr. one has stopped airing. I have a weird obsession with mediocre like baseball players such as Jody Gerut and I tend to make them out to be god-like players, for some ungodly reason. I also have an extreme dislike for Jack Cust, I don't know why. I believe I know everything there is to know about everything, I have an extremely rare sense of humor that almost no one understands, but I'm sure the fact that I think the e-trade baby commercial are funny clued you into that. I also used the word extreme a lot there. I do that too.
I tend to ramble a lot, sometimes incoherently, which is probably what I'm doing now. I love to ramble, but I guess I'm starting to near the 3,000 character limit. So I'll cut it short and remove the previously awesome joke I had.
Again, If you ever have any questions, please leave a note on my board or try and send me an e-mail at ncolla29 (at) gmail dot com. Just don't spam me, I don't want to help you transport 500,000,000 dollars into the United States, as enticing as that sounds.
please check out this humerous baseball article

and also I would like to do the Braves, as the Award for most injuries! (Smoltz, Hudson, Glavine, Hampton, Soriano, Gonzalez, Moylan, Chipper, Kotsay, McCann, Prado, Yunel, etc. hahah)

Hey Nino, I'm not technically an MLB Community Leader but am one of the top White Sox writers on B/R. I noticed on Chris Pennant's profile that you're putting together an End of Season Awards ballot for baseball and if you need anyone extra I'd be more then interested. If not, and it's only for community leaders, completely understandable, but just figured I'd let you know in case you need any extra help. My e-mail address is cowhitchurch@yahoo.com. Thanks.

Nino-
Thanks for the note and the compliment - I appreciate it! I'm definitely looking to promote the "Carrying On" column, and would love to come on your show this Thursday night. Let me know what I should be prepared to talk about, how to call in, what time exactly, and all that good stuff. You can post on my profile or send an e-mail to footballcolumn@yahoo.com.

Nino,
I'm usually at work during that time, sorry. I cover high school sporting events for a county newspaper and Thursday is a big day in HS sports. I wish you all the best with the show, and let me know if I can help with anything else. Sorry again.

Yeah I'm liking Tomlin too so far but if he doesn't win a playoff game this year, things might be different. I'm all out of free passes for the Steelers. I gave them one after winning XL, then I had to in Tomlin's first year. Now, I expect to see some results. First two games though they've looked really good. Could Madden keep bringing up how Roethlisberger's shoulder is bothering him when it clearly wasn't?

Hey Nino,
I was interested in doing a Round Table Article on the 2008 Awards for the Tigers. The Awards are for the best Tigers starter, reliever, power hitter, all around hitter, rookie, suprise player and minor leaguer.
Email me your response at thedrake929@wowway.com...I will use the best answers in the articles.
PS: give me a reason why you selected that player for that award.
THANKS

Hey Nino,
Thanks for the feedback on my prediction competition article. It seems like the general feeling is in favour of a competition once the regular season is over as there's too much uncertainty right now. Also, people don't want to jinx their team before they're even in the playoffs.
I'd love it if you could help to publicise this once the season's over and I'd be happy to organise the finer details. Contact me at nick__johnston@hotmail.co.uk if you're interested in getting involved.
Thanks - Nick
