Michael 's Bio
My name is Michael Schuerlein and I run a little website named Islesblogger.com that was linked to the New York Islanders website in August of 2007. Up until then, I had never written about hockey, but I have played hockey for a majority of my life - and continue to play in several roller and ice hockey leagues throughout the year.
Despite never writing about hockey, I am not entirely new to writing or to the blog scene; I am currently a Photographer and Contributing Writer for two automotive websites, www.truckblog.com and www.musclecarblog.com, and I have also been published in several print automotive magazines.
Despite my involvement with the automotive websites, I am not a professional journalist, or even pretend to be one - I am just an Air Conditioning Mechanic who happens to enjoy writing. The automotive stuff is just a hobby that grew into something I never thought it would - much as hockey has taken me along a similar path.
I was approached by Bleacher Report and asked if I would like to participate, I graciously accepted the invitation and hope to bring the community many great hockey discussions.
