thanks for the edit and kind words Stacey.

My big dream is that UTA and TAMU-CC will break away with SHSU, Texas St., UTSA, and Lamar to start a new SWC.

That would give them the 6 teams playing together for 5 years that is the nut of getting an NCAA autobid. Adding any other Core D1 school (almost any other D1 school) would give the conference the 7 they need to satisfy all elements of the 5/6/7 criteria for an automaic bid. From there, a lot of schools would prefer to be associated with Texas teams (with Texas media markets) rather than the rif raff of other small population states.

sigh.

Maybe one day.
