Did HBO 24/7 Add a Fudge Factor to the First Episode of Pacquiao-Cotto?
10/25/2009
I discovered Bleacher Report, or rather I became a Bleacher Creature, on my birthday May 5th of this year. I was pleasantly surprised with the quantity and quality of articles I used to find only in ESPN website. As a busy mathematics professor, I have limited time to foray into the amazing world of sports, let alone read sports news online. Then there am I enjoying free superbly written pieces posted by well-informed fans like you. What a great find! The very day following this startling discovery, I decided to write and post my first contribution. It feels great to be a Bleacher Creature and enjoy the luxury of reading great stuff, almost without end. I am limited only in the sense my personal disposable time is limited. I feel I have joined a great community. In a truly authentic spiritual sense, I feel I have become a global citizen, too.
I am Filipino by birth. I came to the United States to pursue graduate-level mathematics. I have made Chicago my home since August of 1997. I can't think of a better place to live.
The opening and closing ceremonies of the Olympics always affect me in a profound way. They remind me of the brotherhood of men and how unity could help promote peace and understanding among nations. Sports can achieve that oneness in a large sense.
Bleacher Report, I believe, has contributed big time to this cause, by simply fraternizing this great community of kindred writers and letting them enjoy the freedom of becoming knights of the keyboard.
I believe God is the greatest sports fan. Our physical bodies and brains are fearfully and wonderfully made. He made us - that is my heart-felt and heart-defining dogma. I also write under Religion and Spirituality at http://newhopealsip.wordpress.com/. Also see http://www.examiner.com/x-13335-Chicago-Baptist-Examiner, covering a variety of topics dear to a Christian believer.
I also write for Asean Tribune - a monthly Chicago publication, on Southeat Asian news/culture/politics/economics/history/cuisine/personalities, Chicago community news, business, sports in general, and alternative/natural medicine.
Angelito,
would Pac be as successful had Cotto never lossed? Truly think about it.
Consider this:

Take a read and give it some thought...

Hello.
As you may have noticed, I have not been able to contribute as much to the B/R Boxing community as I have started my own boxing blog. I will try to drop a line or two but my entire focus will now shift to my chosen career path.
Please do visit my blog, http://boxerscamp.blogspot.com/, subscribe and leave your thoughts and comments. I really enjoyed my run here at B/R and will always be forever grateful to the people I have met and became online buddies with because we all share the same passion for the same sport.
Until the next hurrah.
Cheers,
Kenneth

Kabayan Angelito:
There was a typo error in my response to your comment. I am not a chess grandmaster, much less one who had played in the Candidate Matches.
There is only one Asian Chess Grandmaster who had ever played in the Candidates Matches, and that is Eugene Torre when he battled that tough Hungarian during the seventies.
For one reason or another because of the computer program or something, I can not post this reply in your article. Thus, I am doing it here.
Thanks again Kabayan, see you around.

Hello Kabayang Angelito:
Nice to hear from you again. Would it be possible to share with me that Villegas article on Manny Paquiao? In am interested to read it. Thanks.

Hello there Angelito!
Welcome to Bleacher Report. Perhaps I should be hearing those words from you too because you came to this site a full month ahead of me.
I read your request at my article on Paquiao and Cotto. You must read the comments of Lord Hughey on the article of Victor. It is where he wrote that Paquiao recieved only $ 12 M vs Hatton's $23 M take home purse.
Lord Hughey only wrote an article but he posted half-mile comments whenever he pops up every now and then. The guy should be around 90 yrs old and he used to be Dean Martin's road manager. He knows a lot but a little grumpy. I am trying to encourage him to write more articles but he is not inclined to do that.
I hope you will find the information you are looking for. But if you can communicate directly to him, that will be better. Good Luck Kabayan. P.S. Let us talk about chess next time, ok?
