About Tom »

Tom is a native of Pittsburgh, PA but has lived in many cities across the country. He is an American Studies major at Miami University (Ohio) and a professional film and television actor. In his spare time (which isn't much) he plays sax, is the team captain, CB and TE of the Mad Men intramural flag football team, watches way too much ESPN and wrecks lives in Madden '10 (as the Steelers, of course).

He would like to dedicate this season's coverage to his near and dear friend Kimi Young who died at the age of 22 this year from H1N1 on September 23, 2009. You will be missed.

What up everyone? I wrote an article about the changes here on B/R over the last couple of months, and about some of the things that we used to have, that we don't anymore. If you could, check it out.

http://bleacherreport.com/articles/261261-dear-bleacher-report-please-bring-back-the-old-format

As I have said in the past, many times, I am not on here for AOTD votes, but I believe that if enough of you give me your AOTD vote, then maybe the higher ups will bring back some of the things that are gone.

Thanks a bunch, I really appreciate it.

OMG - Swine Flu?!?!? I had the flu once and it kicked my A$*!!! Wow - I hope that you are feeling better - the flu and fall quarter sound like difficult circumstances!!!
It was a crazy weekend!! Saw The Steelers & U2. I poured a touch of beer on the 50 yd. line of Soldier Field for the Steelers this Sun! Now, I'm back to watching football on t.v. for the next couple of months but routine is sweet.
Life is good - I have been keeping an eye on Miami - what is the deal?!? I do have another MAC team that I like - Central Michigan caught my eye last year in a snowy night game vs. Ball or Boise State or something?!? They were great on Sat!!!
Raged that the Pats won - at least Brady looked like a punk in his red yet still boring uniform!!! Randy Moss gets on my last nerve! Also, what about Brady pulling a Belichick to Andrea Kramer! They have a rude attitude to their demeanor and it starts with Belicheat!
Well, keeping an eye out for some of your work! Keep me posted - I need Miami news to know what the heck is going on there!
Regards-
Mimi

The SEC West is extremely crowded. I've posted the first two in a series of three articles on a revised look at the front runners.

I tried to be objective and left my 'colored' glasses in the case, please take a look if you've got a minute and let me know how I did!

I hope you 'like' it!

Much has been written about the Steelers, the 1970s, and their use of steroids. The current public perception is the Steelers began and glamorized the use of roids in the 70s. Read my article to find out who one man, with 4 NFL teams, spread the use of steroids throughout the NFL, beginning in 1963, and see just how pervasive roid usage was by the time the Steelers began their decade of dominance.

I just wrote an article about the inconsistencies of Roger Goodell's beefed-up Player Conduct Policy. I'd appreciate you reading it and any thoughts you might have. Thanks!

I've written two new articles recently. Please have a look and let me know what you think, thanks!

How The Roethlisberger Story Affects a Sports Family: http://bleacherreport.com/articles/223595-roethlisbergers-effect-on-a-sports-family

And I wrote an article debating the view I see commonly on BleacherReport that 2004 was a major shifting point in the elevation of passer rating in the NFL. Let me know your thoughts:
