Cleveland Browns: 2009 Super Bowl Or Bust.
May 19, 2009
Firstly, I think it's necessary for me to lay out my 'street cred' in the Browns neighborhood.
I come from a family of Cleveland natives. My Great Grandfather was a politician, philanthropist and business owner in Cleveland. He owned a large business, which stills bears his name and was a fixture in the arts and the Italian American community in Cleveland. My Grandfather was a lifelong Browns fan and had season tickets in the Otto Graham and Frank Ryan days. My Father, also a Browns fan passed the lineage on to me. I was born a Browns fan in Youngstown and just as someone is born American. I was born, baptized in the Orange and Brown.
My first Browns induced heartbreak was "Red,Right 88". Followed by "The Drive" then "The Drive 2" and any other amount of misery those perennial, Superbowl losers put me through. Then the misery of the Testaverde era, the horror, the horror.
Then finally poof'' It was gone. So, eventually I chose the 3 year NFL/Browns exile like so many others and eventually 99' came around and the misery was welcomed with open arms.
So, that is whats on my Browns Passport. Lots of stamps and nowhere to go. I am currently living in the South. Atlanta, to be exact. If I lived in Cleveland I would most certainly have season tickets but since I dont, I consider this the next best thing. I love talking, arguing and discussing football and the Browns. I love the misery and love the success.
With that being said I begin my foray into the blogs or the forums thing or socialwebamajob thing. I don't exactly know what this is but It gives me a chance to do what I like, writing and talking about my passion, The Cleveland Browns.
Please look forward to upcoming articles. I am currently in the process of creating some articles. Once the camps are in full swing and the "Hot Stove" football talk heats up I will be there. My first article will be published within' the next week so please come back.
Thank-You.
