*My first article published in the Regina Leader Post: http://www.leaderpost.com/sports/Lechner+good+head+coach/1978139/story.html*
I aspire to be a sports journalist.
During the summer, I got a job with the Regina Leader Post newspaper. I have been working their for a couple of months doing local sports roundups and recording scores. I never though I would have a job at a newspaper in my first year of university.
Recently, I had my first every article published in the paper: http://www.leaderpost.com/sports/Lechner+good+head+coach/1978139/story.html
I am also proud to run a Canadian Football League online magazine called Fans of the CFL. The magazine includes many writers from Bleacher Report's CFL section.
For links to each issue check out our site: http://fansofthecfl.blogspot.com/
I have a great passion for sports, the Canadian Football League in particular. My favourite team is the Saskatchewan Roughriders and one of my proudest moments was when they won the Grey Cup in 2007. On Bleacher Report I foucs on the CFL and I am currently the number one ranked writer.
Before I got so busy with school and my job at the Leader Post, I wrote sports columns for a number of sites such as www.riderfans.com, www.riderprider.com, http://www.sports-central.org/ etc.
However, I plan to create a blog about the Canadian Football League where I will post frequently. I am also still working on a site to display all of my journalism work.
Currently in my first year at the University of Regina, I plan to enter the school of journalim in my third year. I currently write for our school newspaper the Carillon as a freelance writer. I have just started writing a weekly column about the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
I hope you enjoy my work, and if you have any questions or comments, sned me an email at roughriderfreek@hotmail.com.

Hey, I think I finally got out my feeling of annoyance with the CFL in a way that others might get --- instead of thinking I am just angry.

I'd love your feedback.

two heads are better than one.
also, the riders wont lose to calgary nad montreal will beat winnipeg. so, i got to hope for a hamilton win.
although, it will prolly come down to that final game when winn. and hammer face each other.
to me i think hamilton would be a better playoff opponent than winnipeg.
i really think winnipeg if they make it in are just going to be eliminated right away without much of a fight

also, might i add if hamilton doesn't make the playoffs. i'll attempt to write a playoff preview for another team or somwthing.

sorry, just read your post now. jeez, it's been a crazy few weeks for me.
um, well you know i'd like to write about the ti-cats. um.. my predictions on how they will win the grey cup or how deep they will go in the playofffs willl be made if they qaulify.
if they don't qualify then i'll wrap up the regular season and try to put what they needed to make it next season.
really swaying and rooting for #1. but, it's definitely going to be some exciting few weeks.
I know the riders are your team. But, you have to root for hamilton in saturdaYS game. besides the riders already have clinched a spot.
it's time for the playoffs to come back to THE HAMMER!!!

If you are still wanting me to contribute to your magazine, I have discovered I can type with my cast on so I will be continuing to write articles.

Hi Jonathan, I just wrote my second weekly CFL article about Quebec which you might want to publish. Also listed at the end of it is a specific challenge for the magazine. I don't know if you would be interested in taking up the project.

Not sure if I told you but I changed the CFL Report's link a while back.
It's now located at: http://thecflreport.blogspot.com/
about 1 month ago
No Jonathan, I don't get paid, I only get a bit more prestige and a vague promise that a newswire can use my articles if they like them. And as far as Toronto goes, when they lost to Winnipeg (and even before the game) the media has said a defeat there would mean missing the playoffs and they've virtually written them off since. So while they are not technically out, everyone is saying wait until next year.
