I got my writing start covering amateur baseball for a local newspaper many moons ago and then moved onto writing for a now defunct baseball website.

After a few years of covering America's pastime I took a couple years off from writing to concentrate on my growing family. I then turned my writing towards another passion... rugby and here I am today.

A rapidly growing sport in America, rugby provides a unique opportunity to a sportswriter. Without all of the easily obtainable information that abounds in other sports (stats, quotes, media, TV coverage, etc.), there is quite a bit more legwork involved in covering rugby.

As a byproduct, I have gotten to know some really great contributors to the sport and when the explosion comes I'll be perched in a great spot to watch.
