Thomas's Bio

Born and raised in Chicago, as a child of the 80's I had the great fortune of growing up when nearly all of our franchises were at their peak. While unfortunately much of that luster is gone now, my devotion to all things sports never faded. My first love has always been and will always be baseball, and even though I'm a die-hard White Sox fan, I do care enough about the game that I enjoy following the progress of other teams (even those not-so-cuddly losers on the North Side). I also have a great interest in basketball, football and hockey, and as a University of Illinois grad-- I love following my Fighting Illini.

After torturing my friends, ex-girlfriends, and roommates with my incessant rants about sports, it's time that I turned it into something constructive. Enjoy my occasionally ridiculous musings.

  4. Not a problem! I really hope people read your article. Derrek Lee was on PTI this week and he even admitted that the rivalry is purely a media concoction. The players could care less.

  5. Thomas, I'm not working in firefox today so here's some editor's feedback.

Awesome article! I just made some stylistic changes, mainly separating your paragraphs so the article flows nicely. Make sure everything checks out to your liking—keep up the great work!

  6. Hey, just a reminder to keep an eye on your mailbox tonight. I'm looking forward to your responses!

  7. just wait, i got a letter to sam zell coming up. i know that as a sox fan you will enjoy my pleading to keep wrigley, well, wrigley.

  8. thanks for selecting my article as a pick of the day

  9. I don't think the Detroit series will be that bad. We've played them really well over the last two years and, hell, they just got swept by the Royals. I would love nothing more than for the Tigers to start the year off 0-6...

  10. Thanks for the add. Although I'm not sure how happy I am to have a South Sider on my fans page. =)

  11. Sweet. What's your e-mail? I'm going to send out a few questions after the Detroit game Sunday night. I want to have the preview up sometime during or after the home opener on Monday, so if you find time to get back to me then, that'd be awesome.

I'm looking forward to hearing your responses, man. I've enjoyed the stuff you've written so far--keep it up.

  12. Hey Thomas--

I'm trying to get some Sox fans together here on BR to do a little roundtable after the Detroit series, and I'd love for you to be a part of it. Shoot me a message back if you're interested and I'll let you know the details.

  13. Thanks for your comment on my predictions, and excellent article on the Sox. 46 minutes until it all starts again...go Sox!

  14. Thomas, that was an excellent first article. It was smart, but not the ill-fated ramblings of a fanatic. I look forward to more good pieces from you.
