Sorry it's taken unusually long fr me to get back to you, Cameron. It's been a crazy last week or so!
Anyway, to tell you who will be the next recruit for UNC would be pure guess work. There isn't much out there indicating one way or another for prospects on their list. I still think the Heels have a good shot at Julius Randle, so he could be the next. Otherwise, I would probably say Kennedy Meeks.
I have a piece coming up on the 2013 recruits tomorrow morning.
Not a problem. Thanks for the topic. It also made me think of possibly doing a monthly mailbag type of thing. It would be fun for me and I think the community members would enjoy it. Just a thought for the future...
As promised, Cameron:
Thanks, again, for the question and all the support!
I just noticed your bio, Cameron. Thanks a lot, man!
UNC Starters 2012-13:
PG - Paige
SG - McDonald/Strickland (both will get starts)
SF - Bullock
PF - McAdoo
C - James
I think Strickland will get a lot of minutes as the 6th man, covering PG and SG. So I feel a majority of the starts will go to McDonald. Lineups will be shifted a lot with the depth and talent in the backcourt, so the minutes will be split pretty evenly. Roy could also start Hairston at SG for more size, too.
The other four positions are pretty much a lock for everyday starters.
That's a really good question, Cameron. It could be a good topic for an article, too. In short, I'm going to have to go with Paige.
I really like the prospects of Joel James, but he will mainly be a beast on defense and the boards. He doesn't have much of a post game, coming out of high school, though I'm sure Roy will educate him in the offseason.
Though the post gets a lot of work, it's a point-guard oriented offense. On top of that, Marcus can score at will and take it deep. He's also a pesky defender and will get his fair share of steals.
So the bigger impact has to go to Paige, but Joel James' contributions will also be a big factor in the Tar Heels' success.
Thanks for the question and the possible topic!
Thanks, again, for all the likes, Cameron! It's truly appreciated! Feel free to post a comment on my articles and discuss the topic I'm covering—whether you agree with me or not. I enjoy interacting with the community members, so I always look forward to comments from fellow Tar Heel fans. Either way, thank you for reading my articles!
Thanks for liking my piece on Joel James. It appears you're new, so welcome to the B/R and Carolina communities!
