Devil here. We discussed a few things earlier in a topic about Federer -but the discussion started to stray from the point and I thought it best to separate those two disparate subjects.

You made this point:

"You used Nadal's 2010 season to argue the point [that Nadal could've won Wimbledon in 2009], but you have no definitive proof."

It's true I have no proof; what I do have though is evidence to how poor the field was that year (Roddick made the final) and how vulnerable Federer was (he made a meal out of the final). End of his tether? Add to this, that prior to winning Wimbledon 2010, Nadal had played only 3 matches on grass in 2 years. I have no definitive proof that Nadal would've won in 2009 but I have the closest that one can get to that.

Yes, they possibly thought that -but they didn't believe it. Personally, I think that if I keet my game tight enough, I could take a set off Nadal -I don't believe it though.

It could also be that he hasn't learnt to manage his schedule and his body better if he plays the exact same number of tournaments -which he looks set to do.

It could also signify -certainly with all that went on in 2009- that since 2008, Nadal has been the foremost player on grass.
