hey Carl - figured I oughta give ya a holler (eventually), as well as a "thumbs up" in general for ALL the GREAT articles. also...'preciate the feedback to my multitude of comments - hope they don't overwhelm ya. had a crazy idea: doin' some research into authoring a book titled "The IMperfect Season", obviously about this past one - where NO ONE finished with a PERFECT season..."aided & abetted" by various 'off the field' issues (incl. the Jerry Sandusky fiasco). whaddya think about da "potential" ? fell free anytime to respond to: "sniffles1915@hotmail.com" - THANK YOU, sir ! sincerely, Randy Steffens ( IOWA native...kidnapped to Fayetteville NC)

A STORY IDEA: With the new year, how about a list of phrases we want sports pundits, athletes and coaches to stop using - words and phrases that should be outlawed. Among my favorites:

BODY OF WORK - used to justify big conference bias

ONE GAME AT A TIME - diversion used by coaches and players to avoid talking about the future game they are really worried about.

I WANT TO THANK GOD FOR THIS VICTORY - as though God has taken sides in the contest or he even has time to worry about such trivial things. Keep your religion to yourself.

RE: Bowl Swagg.. FYI.. Liberty Bowl has so much Nike stuff because of Nike's presence in Memphis. They have a huge distribution center and are one of the largest employers in the Memphis area. If it was all Fed-Ex stuff they could get a lot of swag shipped home

What a load of crap. You mean to tell me that you can list 50 players and a long list of HM players and not include the player who is in the top 4 in all time NCAA rushers, set a NCAA record for all purpose yards and number of games over 100 yards? One of only 4 players to rush for over 6000 yards? Sir you have lost all credibility.
