Can the Minnesota Vikings Compete in the NFC North?

I'm a college student in Minnesota who has been a die hard Twins fan since day one, my mom choose to have her c-section on October 26th, so she would not miss game 7 of the 1987 World Series. Also, despite their ineptitude, the Wolves are my team for NBA action, I am hopelessly optimistic about their future well being an ardent skeptic of their present. The Vikings are somewhat of a touchy subject to me. My awareness with professional football happened the year before one of the most heartbreaking moments in Minnesota sports fan's history. I became a huge fan of the Denver Broncos while watching John Elway and Terrell Davis tear apart the league beating the Packers to win their first Super Bowl and they have been my favorite team ever since. This does not mean that I am not a Vikings fan, I just doubt their ability to ever make it to any sustained level of success.
