Josh's Bio

I am a graduate of SUNY Oneonta, and I am very passionate about sports. While I mostly write about pro/major college sports on this site and my other blog, my real passion is high school and small college sports. The main reason behind this is that most small college and high school players are not concerned about money or signing a lucrative contract; they're there to play and that's it.

I write my own blog, McMullen's Musings, which does showcase the stories that may be overlooked by the major sportwriters. Hopefully, with B/R's help, it will become a big success. Enjoy my articles and please comment and give me feedback; it will only make me better!

By the way, the drawing of me featured on this site was drawn by Rich Conley, a very good caricaturist from the Albany/Schenectady/Saratoga area of New York.

****NOTE: Due to burnout from doing predictions, I will no longer be doing them. I hope you enjoyed them, and I'll try to resurrect them for the playoffs.****

****ANNOUNCEMENT (November 7): Thanks, everyone, for your patience with me over the last couple of weeks; not only have I been suffering from burnout, I've been basically in perpetual job interview mode for at least a month. Expect an article sometime this coming week, and expect it to be epic.****

Josh Writes About

The Short List What Josh thinks about sport's most pressing questions

  • Favorite Athletes

    Dan Marino, Michael Jordan

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Boston Red Sox, Miami Dolphins, Buffalo Sabres

  • Favorite Coaches

    Don Shula, Vince Lombardi

  • All Time Sports Moment

Doug Mientkiewicz making the final out to finally break the Curse of the Bambino in 2004.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Dolphins/Bills, October 2005, when the Bills inducted Thurman Thomas into their Ring of Honor.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Tom Dempsey and Jason Elam's record for the longest field goal in NFL History (63 yards).

  • Ruth or Mays?

Ruth; in my opinion, no one would know about the Say Hey Kid if he hadn't made his famous catch.

  • Unitas or Montana?

Montana; he's been good since his youth.

  • Jordan or Russell?

Jordan; he was still consistently good even after coming out of retirement twice.

  • Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky; he was consistently one of the best in the NHL.

  • Pele or Maradona?

Pele; if you think about it, Maradona became famous because of human error.

  • Federer or Sampras?

Sampras; Federer was good for a while, but he's really dropped off over the past couple of years.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

Nicklaus; Woods has only been around 13 years; if given a couple more years, he should surpass Nicklaus.

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

Earnhardt; while he may have bullied his way to seven Winston Cup championships, he maintained his integrity.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

Schumacher; he was a consistent winner, and probably would have made a seamless transition to NASCAR.

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big 10; it may only have two or three teams that win every year, but it's still competitive right up to the end.

DOUBLE POINTS ARE AVAILABLE, ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN, GET YOURSELF WAY UP THE TABLE, GET YOUR PREDICTIONS IN

Hey Josh, you need to update your comments, add match 7 with your predictions, add match 8 with your predictions, you also need to update bonus 1 with the new matches

  4. Attention all participants in the HiaC prediction competition!

The match of R-Truth vs Drew McIntyre has been added to the card. This will be worth 1 point, so if you could leave your prediction to this match as a reply to your original guesses, this would be much obliged!

You don't have to predict this match, but 1 point could be the difference between winning and losing!

  5. This article was originally published in support of Relay for Life. If you have read this before, then I apologize, but please considering donating at least $1 to Make a Wish in the memory of Josiah Herring. In light of several recent events I felt compelled to revisit cancer awareness and have not had the time for a new article. I Promise to have a new article out soon in support of the cause.

    Thank you everyone!
