Ryan's Bio

Massive Portsmouth FC supporter, I've been following the boys since our old first division days. A university student from America, I spend my days reading and writing about the English game, and am practically encyclopedic when it comes to player/club histories and statistics.

Favorite Athletes

Shaun Wright-Phillips - A never-give-in, never-say die attitude

Matthew Taylor - Love of family, love of the game, and completely underrated!

Gary O'Neil - A true leader on the pitch. I truly miss Gary-O!

Aiyegbeni Yakubu - From the first match I ever saw him play in, I knew he was gold and was going to go places. Several years on, and I firmly believe him to be one of the best strikers around. My style of game is very similar to his.

Linvoy Primus - One of the few TRULY loyal players to the game remaining. The man bleeds professionalism

David James - Absolute quality

All Time Sports Moment

Portsmouth 2-1 Manchester City, March 2006 - In a moment of dire despair for Portsmouth supporters, we saw Pedro Mendes fire in two 25 yard thunderbolts - including one that was practically the last kick of the game - to begin our great escape. It was an absolutely incredible moment, and one that many supporters believe was the reason we stayed up despite an awful season

Pele or Maradona?

Pele - a well respected leader of the game, rather than on over-the-top wash-up

  1. Ryan,

Thank your for your kind comments. Sadly you have to be very patient sometimes, but as you - said professionalism wins through. I have read through a few of your articles, and I am very impressed. I hope to see more of your work.

Good luck to Pompey in the cup! Finally, a real club wins the trophy hopefully!

    Kind Regards,

    Simon
