About Brandon »

Hello everyone! My name is Brandon Hopper. I just graduated from Colorado State University-Pueblo with a major in Mass Communications emphasizing in news editorial.

My career as a sports writer has been short (two years), but it's consisted of a lot. I was the sports editor of the CSU-Pueblo TODAY for three semesters and then the editor-in-chief.

Right now I'm an editing intern here at Bleacher Report.

I've interned for The Pueblo Chieftain for a summer. During that time I learned a ton! I was lucky enough to be able to attend a Rockies game and write a mid-season report about it. I also went to Broncos' training camp and wrote a feature about Elvis Dumervil.

I've written about eight articles for The Denver Post. I've covered everything from Colorado College playoff hockey to the girls' 2A basketball state tournament. It was all a very good learning experience.

This past May I was contacted by The Greeley Tribune and covered an event for them.

And last, but certainly not least, I was honored to be syndicated by CBSsports.com for my first article on Bleacher Report.

I'm a huge fan of the Rockies, Nuggets and Broncos. Baseball is my first passion. I started playing when I was 2 years old and played through two years of college.

Being two hours south of Denver, I don't get to go to as many games as I'd like. I was blessed enough to be able to attend a few Rockies games during the streak at the end of September 2007. Those were the best games of my life...by far!

The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

Larry Walker, Ryan Spilborghs, John Elway, Terrell Davis, Melo, Chauncey, Eddie Najera, Josh Hamilton, Tim Tebow

  • Favorite Sports Teams

2007 Colorado Rockies. Of course, I'm a die-hard Rockies fan win or lose, but that September and Rocktober was one of the best times of my life. Also a very, very big fan of the Denver Nuggets and Denver Broncos.

  • Favorite Coaches

Don Baylor, George Karl (the real Coach K)

  • All Time Sports Moment

Game 163 of the 2007 season when the Rockies rallied for three runs in the 13th inning to beat Trevor Hoffman and the Padres. Kaz and Tulo started it off with back-to-back doubles followed by a triple by Matt Holliday. After the Padres walked Todd Helton, Jamey Carroll hit a sac fly to right. There is no question in my mind that Holliday DID touch home plate. I cried.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

Either game 162 of the 2007 Rox season, or Game 3 of the World Series. Probably game 162 because we had to do scoreboard watching to make sure the Brewers beat the Pads. It was so intense. My celebration actually made it onto Sportscenter.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Longest hitting streak by Joe DiMaggio at 56 games

  • Ruth or Mays?

    Mays

  • Unitas or Montana?

    Elway

  • Jordan or Russell?

    Jordan

  • Gretzky or Orr?

What sport did they play? Just kidding, hockey isn't my sport though, but he's not called The Great One for nothing.

    Pele

  • Federer or Sampras?

    Federer

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

    Tiger

  • Petty or Earnhardt?
