The Captain's Bio

I live in Oklahoma where they don't know the "difference between a blue line & a clothes line". I moved here from Hockeytown about 6 years ago and what a culture shock. I can't watch my favorite sports team hardly at all.

During the off-season, I usually watch movies like "Miracle", "Mystery, Alaska" or the "2002 or 2008 Red Wing Stanley Cup Highlights" video. I am an avid photographer & Red Wing fan. I hope that we can have some interesting discussions on The Red Wings, Michigan Football & The Detroit Tigers. I will also write about , the Tulsa's Oilers (Central Hockey League) and Talons (af2 Arena Football)

My writing influence must be Mitch Albom whose column appears in the Detroit Free Press, amongst others. I would always read his articles because he had a unique spin on sporting events. He's also one of my favo(u)rite authors. Eh, I was born in Toronto, Canada, I'm allowed! My other favorite sports guy is Van Earl Wright and his "We've got highlights" slogan.

You can contact me at brpamica@yahoo.com; just put "Bleacher Report" or "BR" in the subject line....and..............

  1. Hey Brian,

Your Red Wings contributions obviously speak for themselves...just sent you some more info about becoming a Leader for this section this afternoon.

    Z

  2. Hey Brian, thing are definitely slow without the Wings but the Jays keep me busy during the summer. Although I like hockey much better, I love both sports. I can't wait to see this lineup with Hossa added, this should be one of the crazier seasons in recent memory, we had 54 wins last year and then we add a super star in Hossa and I am not hesitant in saying that we do have the best top four with Stuart in the line up for a full season. A top four of Rafalski, Lidstrom, Kronwall and Stuart for at least two more seasons is pretty much a dream come true! Maybe we can challenge our own NHL record of 62 wins in a season?

  3. One of the greatest movies ever made! You a Stanley Kubrick fan?

  4. If you have a moment, please check out www.bleedeaglesgreen.com

  5. So I guess hockey isn't a popular sport in tornado alley, eh?

  6. Well, you must have been celebrating down in the South. Quite the victory, eh?

Moving is stalled. I am on the east coast, most of my stuff and my truck on the west. It's a very odd situation. I've been off the radar here for awhile, as I have been prepping to hit the recording studio and planning a tour of Europe.

    How's things in Oklahoma?

  7. Hey Brian,

We've got an interesting idea going on Bleacher Report. Go to the article and vote on your choices for the NHL awards! We think it should be a good time!

  8. Congrats--all the better 'cause they had to work for it.

  9. Congratulations Champions!
u guys earned it, it is great!

    congratulations again,
    enjoy celebrating!

    Miah :)

  10. I'm hanging in there. That is indeed my baby. That was taken in December at a Wild-Rangers game, where he got his jersey signed by Shanahan. You should see his collection...He's very happy he just Hasek too. He loves goalies.

How you doing? Wasn't the end of the game last night just awful? I vote new rule: referee interference.

  11. it must be insane in the hockeytown right now.
in Montreal I saw several cars with the Red Wings flags and people wearing the jerseys and shirts to go watch games at sports bars. you guys have fans everywhere!!!

enjoy ur monday evening, u've got to sleep a lot tonight coz there are possibilities u won't be able to rest for a couple of days! lol

take care and see u after the celebrations,
    also, careful out there! ;p

    Miah :)

  12. I agree the wings have been playing amazing all season, and all playoffs long.

for me, it is especially the defensive they have. obviously for game one and game two, it was pretty much impossible to get anything going in front of Osgood (they had the control of the rebounds and could clear off Osgood's zone pretty fast).

u know what journalists in Montreal are saying about the Wings: if the Habs would have gotten in the finals, we would have a 4-0 serie with game one 14-3, game 2, 10-2 (for the Wings of course!) lol

    another big game tomorrow!
I heard Lindstrom's interview today in Pittsburgh, he is pretty confident about the whole thing. it is cool ...

  13. hey!

just wanted to say Hi and ask how it is going rooting for the Wings at the moment! it must be a real thrill!

    game 3 tonight, enjoy!

    Miah :)

  14. Yea, but i was hoping the Pens would at least compete. I really hope Dallas doesn't end up being the hardest team Detroit faces this season and so far it appears thats the case.

  15. Congrats. Pitt's gonna be tough, but I'm leanin' to y'all in seven.
