I'm a Carolina Girl...both South and North Carolina. I'm a diehard USC Gamecock fan. Attending the University of South Carolina was a dream come true for me. I get goosebumps just thinking of walking on The Horseshoe for the first time. I have a wonderful husband who is a UNC grad and we live in NC so I have to be a Tar Heel as well. (Though if/when the two teams play each other---I'm for my beloved Gamecocks 100%). We have two precious and spoiled bulldogs that are our children (and NO they are not Georgia fans) and one angel bulldog, Winston, that passed away 08/19/10--he was a huge basketball player..really, he could even pass the ball!
Being a Southern girl I grew up around Nascar. Jeff Gordon and Elliott Sadler are my favorite drivers. Darlington, Bristol and Charlotte are my favorite tracks. My goal is to go to all tracks at least once in my lifetime. I love every thing about racing--the sound of the cars, the roar of the engines, the smell of gasoline and of course the burnouts when Jeff wins.
Nothing beats college football, but my NFL team is the Carolina Panthers.
Life lessons can be learned when we least expect them.
Big Papi's HR the other night inspired me...
p.s. Give Winston my best!
How it's going?
Hope you can check out my latest where I analyze the quarterbacks taken before Tom Brady in the 2000 NFL Draft:
Please comment if you've got the time, thanks!
Hey Winston's Mom...
a new twist on this one...
Thanks for the kind words (and the POTD), Sharon.
Writing my gym article has probably been the most fun I've had writing a piece for B/R.
My pleasure helping Winston. Glad to hear he's doing better. I'll tell you the same thing I told Nathan: Give Winston a "high paw" for me.
Winston requested that I post future articles on your board...
Jackie Robinson day was yesterday and it got me to thinking who are the best Negro League players of all time. Well here are my top 5, hope you enjoy and I'd love to hear your comments.
