Jacob's Bio

Well what can I say I am an avid Hokie fan. I would love to be able to cover Virginia tech games and travel with the team. That would be the ultimate job. I live in Roanoke, VA but spend my falls in Blacksburg. I love it up there. The atmosphere, the feeling, the excitment of Hokie Football is like no other I've ever experienced.

  4. Uh oh. Virginia Tech's Darren Evans will miss the season with a torn ACL. Does this squash the BCS hopes of one of the favorite preseason dark horses? If you have a moment, please check out my column. Thanks!

  10. Hey Jacob,

That's definitely the $64,000 dollar question. I think we're all searching that dream job, that's why we are here sharing our work. I have been lucky to get a few opportunities, some were just pure blind luck by being at the right place at the right time. My only real suggestion is to make connections, keep an eye out for stuff and keep writing. Seems like you're already doing it and you're a good writer so keep doing what you're doing. That or stalk the Roanoke Times :-).

  11. No problem Jacob. I'll keep an eye out for your stuff!

  12. Pitt is ok. The people up here just arent the same. I miss the burg like crazy. im gonna be in town this weekend and the weekend of the spring game. 13. This is the first in what should be an on-going series. Hope you enjoy.
