Finally Ovechkin gets some love and respect! Yes, he is the league MVP this year, as you say. (Tavares is a good runner-up choice, and even as a Caps fan I have to admit Crosby would've been MVP if he hadn't been hurt.) Under Coach Adam Oates, it took Ovi awhile to adjust to playing right wing, but since he did, he's better than ever. Once again he's skating like the wind again and is a scoring machine. Also, he's making his teammates better with outstanding passes, is playing good defense and is clearly the team leader on the ice and in the locker room. After starting 2-8-1, with Ovi reborn the Caps went 24-10-3. He's earned the MVP. Good job, Nicholas!

Hey, Dave. I like your stuff on the Caps, but since you're out west you might consider becoming a Ducks fan. They're playing great with Gabby as their coach. I still can't believe the Caps let him go days after he got to 200 wins faster than any other coach in NHL history. If the stories were true, Ovie turned against him and that was that. (The beginning of my disenchantment with the used-to-be-great 8.) The Caps have been nothing special since, and the Ducks are flying high. I'm still a Caps fan but have adopted the Ducks as my western team. When I've been able to catch them on TV, they're a lot of fun to watch.
