About

I live in beautiful Redding California and have been a die-hard 'Niner's fan since before the glory years. I have six beautiful children ages 7, 17,19, 21, and 23. My oldest son is a Cowboy's fan (not sure where I went wrong there!). I also like the San Francisco Giants, The New York Yankees (yep it's true), the Los Angeles Lakers, and the Sacramento Kings. Strange line up I know, but I can explain.
I blame it all on my dad and his being from Southern California. He likes the Dodgers, Rams, and Lakers. When my two brothers and I would watch sporting events with my dad, my brothers would always root with my dad and I (always having to be different) would root for whomever they were playing against. Hence, the Niners, Giants, and Yankees (back in the 70's as some of you may recall, the Yankees and Dodgers met several time in the fall classic). The Lakers were the only team of his that I adopted-I guess that doesn’t say much for the Warriors, but I just don't remember the Lakers and Warriors as a great rivalry. The Kings weren’t in Sacramento back then, but now that they are, they are the closest thing Redding has to a local team.
Well, enough about that, I am here because of the 49ers and some of the great articles that B/R writers have posted-just want to be a part of it!

    Hey Blaine,

Looking forward to your next article. I'm intrigued by our late round picks and undrafted FAs, particularly Cam Johnson and Chris Owusu. What have you heard regarding their roster chances?

    Hey Blaine,

I would also like to apologize for baiting you, last night. It is a tactic that served me well in sports and in debating possible outcomes. I am well aware that once I get under a person's skin, I can dig in deeply. Once inside, I can mess with their mind. It is simply fun for me, but I should not have done that to you, last night.

Speaking for myself, I know that if I get royally cheesed off, I can hit the stupid zone in a nanosecond. Upon further reflection, I semi-agree with your assessment of buffoonery. I would choose a different adjective, but hey, that's semantics and I don't want to split hairs, nor pull them, over our engaging exchange, last night.

So, once again, I do apologize.

Burt - aka CB - aka the man of many names, as my last name is as unpronounceable as it is challenging to spell. I don't even perform under my real name any longer!

Cheers and all the best to you and your family. Hey, maybe we can even be friends.

    Hi Blaine,

I am sorry for reacting so vehemently to the pontificating remark. That is what set me off and I will admit to that. I disagree that we both looked like buffoons and am sorry that you deleted the commentary. But we can agree to disagree on that.

I've simply dealt with far too many fools attempting to put words in my mouth over the years or people that thought they knew what I was going to say, when in truth, they had no idea. We both went over the top in there and I admit that. We were not buffoons, though.

I've been an analyst for much of my life, analyzing data, situational tactics, information flow and a great deal more in many different arenas, some I can talk about, others I cannot and will not. I analyze quickly and succinctly. Terse is an aspect I'm still learning, but isn't life a continual learning process?

I'm willing to let bygones be bygones, and since you are a 49er fan, I cut you latitude in that area as I love my 49ers. May this be a wise lesson to the both of us.

PS - Thanks for the kind words about my dear wife. She is recovering well and back home, full-time, after 6 months in care. Thank God for that. We are moving from NW Oregon to Lake County, CA within the next year. This year has been too wet even for native Oregonians. Besides, too freakin' many Seadog fans up here.
