About Anthony »

Thirty-something, married, father of one teenager. A BA in Poli-Sci that serves well as wall decor and a varied career in radio, military and law enforcement are but some of the experiences in life that I hold dear. I've always loved writing and have held many aspirations along the way. While never attempting the great American novel or even a letter to the editor, I like this site and sports, too, so I thought I'd give it a shot. If nothing else, I'll have something fun to point my friends to when they're looking for a laugh.

Favorite Athletes

Rocky Marciano, Joe Montana and John McEnroe are a few of my favorite athletes.
Favorite Sports Teams

Multiple teams in multiple sports.
Favorite Coaches

There are many coaches that I admire.
All Time Sports Moment

Many heart-stopping moments would be suffering an injustice if I were to name just one.
Most Memorable Game Attended

Almost every event I've ever attended, from minor league hockey to MLB, college athletics, NASCAR, Horse Racing and the NFL have been memorable for one reason or another.
Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Wilt Chamberlain's NBA single-game scoring and rebounding records, Cal Ripken's MLB consecutive games played, UCLA's consecutive NCAA Basketball Championships, Oklahoma's consecutive games won in NCAA Football are some of the records I most admire that will NEVER be broken.
Ruth or Mays?

Even with his hard-charging lifestyle, it's difficult not to admire the zero to hero story of the Babe.
Unitas or Montana?

Montana
Jordan or Russell?

Jordan
Gretzky or Orr?

Gretzky
Pele or Maradona?

Pele
Federer or Sampras?

hmmm tough one. Color me dumb, because I think it's a toss-up depending on surface.
Tiger or Nicklaus?

Tiger, easily.
Petty or Earnhardt?

Petty
Schumacher or Senna?

Senna was the better driver of the two and I'm not sure it's even that close.
Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Wouldn't the sport have something to do with which conference is better? Certainly the SEC is tops in football. The Big East leads the pack in basketball and it isn't even close. Volleyball, anyone? If so, head west to the PAC-10. See what I mean? This could take all day.
