About Sean »

Summers can be brutal for this Texas Rangers fan. Fortunately, I'm every bit a movie nerd as I am a baseball nerd (if not more), so when Vincente Padilla decides to take his sweet time deciding which batter he wants to earhole and completely disengages me from the game, I have other stimulating avenues to pursue.

Baseball is the only sport that makes my pants go crazy. In fact, I'll gladly go on record and say that I would rather sit through a good movie than watch a regular season college basketball game, and maybe any bad movie depending on who's playing. The irony of it all is that there really aren't many good baseball movies.

For those of you keeping score at home, I'll take "Bull Durham" over "Field of Dreams", "Baseball Forecaster" over "Baseball Prospectus", Letterman over Leno, limes over lemons, "The White Album" over "Sgt. Pepper", "Curb Your Enthusiasm" over "Seinfeld", and sushi over your mom's green bean casserole.

In addition to following the Texas Rangers, I am a Dallas Cowboys and Dallas Mavericks fan.

I currently reside in Dallas, Texas and I am not a Yankee hater.

The Shortlist »

  • Favorite Athletes

Anyone with a great mustache that looks like they hang out at lumber yards - Matt Stairs, Sal Fasano, Jason Giambi... Seriously, I don't have a favorite; I admire many players for many different reasons.

  • Favorite Sports Teams

Texas Rangers, Dallas Cowboys, Dallas Mavericks

  • Favorite Coaches

Why are college coaches so unlikeable? They have this greasy, used-car, snake oil salesman demeanor that puts them on the same level as televangelists and small town politicians.

  • All Time Sports Moment

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

July 2nd, 2008 - Texas Rangers vs. New York Yankees. Yankee Stadium was great and I have nothing but respect for their fans. There are some very special personal reasons that made that night memorable.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

  • Ruth or Mays?

  • Unitas or Montana?

  • Jordan or Russell?

  • Gretzky or Orr?

  • Pele or Maradona?

  • Federer or Sampras?

People still watch tennis??? That's cute.

  • Tiger or Nicklaus?

  • Petty or Earnhardt?

    Stroker Ace.

  • Schumacher or Senna?

  • Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?
