Wow! That's a lot of hate and vile directed at someone you don't agree with.
I will though answer some of your criticism.
The seven games you mentioned that the Jaguars lost by 56 points were games they were kept in by the defense. I mentioned the good play of the defense. They were unappreciated and unrecognized. It is shameful their good efforts were wasted by the deplorable offense. I think we can agree on that.
Yes, I saw some of those games. You forgot the Cleveland game. That was a 14-10 loss that was so bad I deleted it from my DVR. The Jaguars only scored 20 points in a game two times all year. Some teams put up that many in a quarter in 2011. If the Jaguars would have scored just 21 points in every game, the record would have been 8-8.
As to their 'drastically upgraded" receivers: Laurent Robinson had a career year last year. The Jaguars richly rewarded him. His numbers last year—54 receptions, 11 touchdowns—would have led the Jaguars. His opportunities came from playing with better receivers like Miles Austin, Dez Bryant and Jason Witten. Justin Blackmon has yet to play a down in the NFL. He has potential. He could be great or a bust, time will tell.
While drafting a punter may not be a totally bad move, why in the 3rd round? Were they afraid someone else would draft him? For the record, no other punters or kickers were drafted until the 6th round.
What was Chad Henne brought in for? Gabbert didn't have any injury concerns last year, so why bring in an experienced starter? He was brought in to give Gabbert competition. Gabbert might look better now, remember everyone looks better in mini-camp, but what about when the hits are real? If Gabbert starts the season poorly, look for him to be benched in favor of Henne.
How can the record be worse? The schedule features the Packers, Lions, Bears, Raiders, Bills, Patriots, Jets, Bengals and two against the Texans. In their favor they play Minnesota and Indianapolis early. Though they are road games, they are winnable. They are almost must-win games. An 0-3 start could indicate a long season ahead.
I appreciate your passion and your time commenting. Thanks for reading. Craig Horton.
