About

I briefly wrote for the NIU's daily newspaper, the Northern Star, and before that I was the sports writer/columnist for Triton College's Fifth Avenue Journal.

I wrote for the Chicago Steel's website during the 2008-09 season, writing game stories for the team. Currently, I am a PR intern with the Chicago Bandits pro softball team.

Above all else, I love sports, and I see this as my chance to write about them a little bit.

My favorite player is the Player to be Named Later. Talk about a multi-sport athlete, that guy's everywhere!

Short List

  • Favorite Athletes

the Player to be Named Later. He's good, and plays in several leagues.

  • All Time Sports Moment

The 2010 Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup title and the 2005 White Sox World Series title.

  • Most Memorable Game Attended

It was the 1992 Norris Division Finals game 4, at the old Chicago Stadium between the Chicago Blackhawks and the Detroit Red Wings. Scoreless late into the third, Brent Sutter of the Hawks picked up a rebound in front of Wings goalie Tim Cheveldae, and tapped it in with 1:34 left in the game. The Stadium erupted, and no one sat for the remainder of the game. The Hawks won the game, and swept the hated Wings out of the playoffs.

  • Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Gretzky's 92 goals. No way anyone gets 80 with the way teams play defense these days, and goaltending is far and away better now than it was in the 1980s.

Thanks for noticing i used the Calder, figured id leave it up there till someone noticed. Id hoped it would give me enough time to find something better but finding a trophy to call my own is impossible.

    Hey Steve--

I'm trying to get some Sox fans together here on BR to do a little roundtable after the Detroit series, and I'd love for you to be a part of it. Shoot me a message back if you're interested and I'll let you know the details.

I actually have a Jenks jersey, too. I really need to learn how to spend my money better...

I'd love to take Phil Rogers' position as national baseball writer with the Trib, but I got a long way before I can even think about getting that job. But hey, if you get a column with one of the major Chicago papers, keep me in mind...

Thanks for the add--I did the same as well. Good to see another knowledgeable Chicago sports fan around here.
