Virgil Gross

I was born in Middletown, Ohio in 1958 to one of the best and most sought after lead carpenters in southern and central Ohio and everyday housewife. Nothing special in my life except for one thing I guess and that was despite all the places we had lived and moved to we never lived in a house with indoor plumbing till my parents divorced and I moved to Indiana. I enjoyed baseball and where I have my most fondest memories as a child we had a big field to the side of the house and most of the kids on our road in the country would come over and we would play ball there. I also remember my dad would go and lay out in the front seat of my mom's 1957 ford fairlane and listen to the reds game on the radio and I would climb into the back seat to listen also, back then it would be Waite Hoyt announcing the game and in those days people did not mind a rain delay so they can listen to one of the many stories from the walking encyclopedia of baseball. As for me having any special writing skills, only ones I have is about 5 or 6 years in high school and what I have done on my own over the years. I haven't been to a Reds game in person in over 30 years but would like to go this year if possible.
