On Sacrifice and Honour: This Is Why We Remember

Might drop in every now and then (in fact, probably will) but for the most part won't be here until sometime in December. Can't really say when I'll be fully active again...
In case you were wondering what a day in the fabulous life of Tom Cable was like, or are just in need of a good laugh, you may enjoy this:

Hi Emma
Glad I caught your post before I have to leave for awhile...
Its been some time since I've walked a course (need to get back out there!). I really am partial to the 3 iron. Am afraid of my fairway drivers. But that 3 gives me a straight, low flight with lots of run almost every time. Then of course, the 9. Have started to perfect that nice li'l backspin on the green. Its fun!
Are your courses as 'wild' as we're told?

Hi Em! Glad to hear that you are holding your own through finals. 3 more weeks till freedom, huh? lol
I enjoyed both Clara's article and yours. Superior work by both you ladies. . . but then again, I have come to expect nothing less.
Looking forward to your having a spurt of activity! Your unique take on things, and often poetic work, is a breath of fresh air.
I'm still struggling with my wife's health issues right now, so it will be a while longer before I get back onto a regular schedule of publishing articles. However, I did squeeze out a new one tonight. If you get a minute, take a peek:

A simple game preview, with a bit of a twist.
Take care, and I look forward to catching up with you again very soon!

Sorta back. I am still not THAT much back into BR. I will truly feel comfortable again when I write something here.

Hi Emma! How are you?
I'm hopelessly behind, just wanted to thank you for the link to Clarabella's article. It was splendid! I appreciate the link.

Hi Emma
Boy, am I out of touch! Had no idea you had written that tribute. Awesome!
Then, your current profile info: 1) fantastic cause. 2)loved that musical piece. The sentiment of the title comes through the music beautifully. 3)very creative and funny. I was pulling for the stick-men all the way!
Can only sympathize with you on the tee shot. Hope you had a mulligan and used it.
The only thing worse would be a whiff. :-)
Good to hear you're out there swingin' a club, my friend.

Emster!!!!!
Well, I haven't left b/r, but it is true that I haven't been on here since forever. I read articles, mostly in the Wrestling section, but that's it. Rarely ever comment. Juan's article was something I thought I should comment on, so I did. Glad you liked the comment, spiritually even if not the b/r way! Your compy still being a nuisance, eh? Some things never change! ;)
I'm alright. Busy life these days, kinda tired. I've had thoughts of coming back, dropping an article on b/r! But apart from the lack of motivation to do so, I understand that it also would be very time-consuming. So today was my cameo. :D
How have you been? Haven't talked with you in...a week. Haha.
Are you still a Rafa-fan, or have you come to the good side? ;)
Hope you're well, take care. :)

Good morning Emma! I'd like to refer you to a piece that was written by Juan which I think could serve as a good tool for younger writers.

Oops, owe you a reply on the story/dialogue question.
I've always loathed writing dialogue for the very reason you mention—it's hard. Never souunds real when I read it back to myself.
I think you just have to get over that b/c no imaginary conversation will ever sound THAT real to the mind that imagined it (I guess).
I've never been of the opinion that there are hard/fast rules to writing, especially creatively. So, unless you've been told to include it, I see no reason to force the issue if you're not comfortable with it.
That said, the only way to get better is to practice it and it certainly seems like a fun little tool to play with if you can get good at it...

Don't know if wrestling is really your thing, but you might get a little laugh here.

DeleteHey,
Following up yesterday's great debate is the one I've been waiting to write for a long time, and the one I think may be the best debate yet and a must-read for any football fan! Should video technology be introduced into football? Would doing so take away from the 'magic' that makes the game so great? And would it help or hinder the referees? Have your say in the Great Debate!
