Emma's Bio
To those of you who are eligible to vote: Do so.
It is your right. Millions of people worldwide do not have this right (myself included, albeit not b/c I live in a dictatorship...) and not using your vote is a vote of disrespect to them.
To Americans: If you didn't vote back in '08, you have NO RIGHT to complain about anything Obama does or doesn't do, regardless of how strongly you might feel.
To my fellow Brits: If you didn't vote in the European elections earlier this year, you simply CANNOT complain about the BNP. They got LESS votes this year than in previous elections, yet they gained two seats in parliament. Why? Because in Britain, MEP's are elected under a system of proportional representation. This means that b/c so few people turned out to vote, there weren't enough people voting for the other parties, and a bunch of racist fascists were elected—you could say, by default. Effectively, every Brit who could have and didn't vote in those elections, voted for the BNP.
To all women: People died to give you the right to vote. Use it. 'Nuff said.
To everybody else: Politics is everywhere. You cannot escape it. It affects huge aspects of our lives, even when we're not aware of it. Choosing not to vote does nothing but make you a hypocrite the second you decide to complain about increased taxes, or the number of troops dying, or anything else for that matter.
To people who vote: Thank you.

Hi Emma,
Thanks for the note! Am doing well, but extremely busy right now, so haven't been able to write much. Always enjoy reading your pieces and saw that one advertised on Hotnuke's piece. Very nice tribute. You could actually do an article on everyone of those that served and participated in sports. But who has the time? :) Take care and will talk more soon!

Thanks Emma - life will go on.

Yea, sorry. I wasn't exactly sure what to do about that, because while you spell honor differently, the "Medal of Honor" is a proper noun, so I think it may not change. I'll double check, but I don't think it's a major deal.

Emma,
I really thought you’d find this piece something you’d want to read on this Veteran’s Day.

Had no idea about the CCTV thing. Don't tell too many Americans that...with all this public option/health care talk, the right wing is firing up socialism/big bro. scare tactics. Last thing the impressionable need to hear is something like that about a country with socialized medicine (UK's adopted that part of Euro policy, right?).
Re the link—absolutely to highlight that dude, but you can scroll through the bottom of it using the arrows and see a bunch of other athletes who served.
In case you were still planning that article.

Thought you might appreciate this.
Clearly, the idea is a good one:

Thoughts...?
Only that at this point in your life you are refining some incredible natural talents and giftings. When you apply those "tools" to whatever things you are passionate about...well, beautiful things will happen.
You will know when the time is right.

Hello Emma, thanks for the post. Yes, I plan on staying and any deletion of my account will be done by the office. I have stated that in the article as well as via email to Dave Mo. I am still waiting to hear some of those answers 5 days later. We will see what happens. Thanks for the support!

Hi, Emma
Feel any different at XV? When I was that age I was a gangly, dorky dude, all limbs and no brain. Couldn't buy trousers fast enough to keep up with my legs. Bet you've got some mates like that, huh?
Read a comment of yours the other day on Robt's post that stunned me with its penetrating truth and articulation. You're an incredible asset to any plow you set your hand to.
Endure your schoolwork, my friend. You have a beautiful future. :-)

Damn girl, why you gotta remind me about being 31 ;-)
Haha, you're anger is palpable and awesome.
I must admit, that's a pretty ridiculous target. All the more so b/c the others are relatively legit as you mention. Not that it's rocket science (as you also mentioned), but changing up sentence structure, word choice, and finishing w/a strong conclusion are all fundamental elements of good writing so I'd say they're viable options.
But then to demand the use of a single semi-colon? I gotta laugh. Granted, I'm not sure many of kids I graduated my CA public HS with would be able to do it.
Maybe I couldn't...
This is that same teacher, right? The one who lets you make up words in the right spot?

Hi Emma, how are you? Haven't had much of a chance to interact with you and realized how much I miss your unique perspective! So I'm looking forward to your having more time to contribute come December.
If you get a minute, I'm sure my friend, Bob Warja, would appreciate it if you took the time to take a look at this brilliant piece, and perhaps leave a comment:

Haha, I think I'll leave the research in your court. I've just started studying again for my own exam so my time's gonna be limited as well.
Good luck on yours.
