MJ's Bio

The Green Bay Packers Community Leader and San Jose Sharks co-Community Leader (with Danielle Marchell--check her stuff out too!) and proud member of Ranter Banter Central was born in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin, attended University Wisconsin-Milwaukee, and lives in San Francisco, California. He's been working for non-profits since 1992 and the performing arts since 1994.

Used to be a huge baseball fan, but was turned off by the imbalance of payrolls; used to be a huge basketball fan, but was turned off by an imbalance of officiating. Now it's first and foremost NFL and NHL, followed by college football, basketball, and hockey.

Also writes sports for MVN.com and does social and spiritual commentary at the link to "MJ's Website" below profile photo (that's his dog and her late kitten-child)...please check it out!

MJ Writes About

The Short List facts and information about MJ Kasprzak

Favorite Athletes

Brenden Morrow, Joe Thornton, Mike Grier, Ryan Smyth, Ian Laperriere, Chris Chelios, Jeff Garcia, Ed Reed, Aaron Kampman, and Warrick Dunn in no particular order. Had to remove Favre because of how he's strung along then bad-mouthed the Packers.

Favorite Sports Teams

Green Bay Packers, San Jose Sharks, Wisconsin Badgers--in that order.

All Time Sports Moment

Miracle on Ice, then Packers' Superbowl XXXI victory.

Most Memorable Game Attended

Game I proposed to my wife, then Freeman's ESPY catch against the Vikings.

Most Unbreakable Sports Record

Favre's consecutive starts, Ripken's consecutive starts, DiMaggio's hitting streak.

Ruth or Mays?

Mays--not even close, since he was the all-around player.

Unitas or Montana?

Unitas, by one of the short hairs on his head--but I'll take Elway.

Jordan or Russell?

Jordan, but I like Russell better

Gretzky or Orr?

Orr, 'cause he revloutionized the position

Pele or Maradona?

Pele since I think he'll prove to be more timeless, but admittedly I don't know much about the world's #1 sport.

Federer or Sampras?

Federer

Tiger or Nicklaus?

I HATE GOLF!

Petty or Earnhardt?

I ABSOLUTELY DESPISE AUTO-RACING!!!

Schumacher or Senna?

WHAT?

Pac 10, Big 12, Big 10, SEC, ACC, or Big East?

Big Ten, not because it's best athletically, but because it cares more about education than the others (also respect Pac 10).

  1. MJ, I can't stand all the Rodgers haters--it's driving me crazy! We may have to write an article on this...

  2. Maybe we shoulda swapped, I'd love to see the O's back in to one rather than lose 11 of 12 to close the season.

Baseball is a game for heart broken optimists...Jesus would have been a Baseball guy.

  3. Hey MJ... Thanks a bunch for the link and to answer your question, yes it works fine. Haha I tried to defend the Broncos a little bit. Don't worry, they won't be there much longer after this weekend with the Bucs game.

  4. I'm right behind you at 25 MJ.

If the O's were swept in October I would be the happiest SOB in Maryland...maybe not but close.

Try to take some satisfaction in the Cubs loss.

  5. I'd be honoured.

  6. Thanks for the comments, encouragement, and pick of the day vote! I love that so many established writers are giving the article respect. And thanks for your offer of help on Sharks articles. I've been reading your stuff on MVN, too, and would be happy to help in any way I can to help you get the community here going. It looks like you're about the only one writing in either place on the Sharks...

  7. Looking forward to the Dallas-Cincinnati match up this weekend? Sounds like Chad Ocho Cinco is too!

    There you go!

  9. Hey MJ,

Sorry about the delay in publishing the rankings. I got really bogged down at the office yesterday but I should have them up this afternoon.

    -Shaun

  10. Thanks MJ for the spelling info about Canadian Hockey!
Will take into consideration when I start writing some articles about the Ducks.
Right now I'm going to be writing a series of articles about the Angels playoff run!

  11. I'm working on a "good, the bad, and the ugly" article on the Stars pre-season thus far. I'm very not impressed. The lack of work by Stars PR staff when the Ducks Pr staff is treating the pre-season just like this season is frustrating to say the least. Although these games don't matter for a reason...heres hoping the Stars are better than they are showing now. Not gonna lie, I'm quite concerned.

  12. i figured out what the issue was. Somehow the link for battle of the pacific was active and in the mornings it was adding the newest article. I changed the settings so it wont do it anymore, as Bleacher Report is the main writing local of most of the writers there and thats how i want it to be.

BTW: Tired of playing the Duckies yet? Seen much of your improved blueline yet? The Stars are expected to be down to 30 players for tonights @ Chicago match-up.

  13. There's a button in the edit window that's a picture of a chain-link (get it?). Highlight the next you want to hyperlink, click that button, then insert the URL. As you can tell, that's our preferred style, rather than dropping the "http://..." into the text itself.

  14. Some how your latest article showed up under my account. I emailed you the image and the text. I dunno what kind of glitch happened but i for sure freaked out thinking people would assume i traded alliances again.

  15. Thanks for the Ryan Grant correction. I was busy doing other things, and saw that Adam Jones had the ball, and assumed it was the first play because it happened so quickly.

    Thanks for the read!
